It says PWM connector to the motherboard, what does that mean?
Which slot does the PWM connector connect to on the main motherboard?

I’m new to computer building,
Just wanted to make sure about something: does the Samsung 970 evo, a M.2 NVMe PCle SSD fit into the PCle slot or the m.2 slot?
Thank you.

You need to check with the motherboard manual though if the M.2 slot supports NVMe/PCI-e SSDs. With current hardware, the first one usually does but if there are more than one others may not.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Just looking at it should tell you it doesnt fit in an actual pcie slot. Akin to a square peg in a round hole.

Your manual also shows pictures of the devices and where they go.

I think he may have in another thread? Ya'll about to get nickle and dimed with threads instead of a general build question thread.

EDIT: Z390 Aorus pro (WiFi) is his board. That is all we know.

Ok I’m back sorry guys. So this is what the motherboard manual says:

12) M2A/M2M (M.2 Socket 3 Connectors)
The M.2 connectors support M.2 SATA SSDs or M.2 PCIe SSDs and support RAID con guration. Please note that an M.2 PCIe SSD cannot be used to create a RAID set either with an M.2 SATA SSD or a SATA
hard drive. To create a RAID array with an M.2 PCIe SSD, you must set up the con guration in UEFI BIOS
mode. Refer to Chapter 3, "Con guring a RAID Set," for instructions on con guring a RAID array.

Follow the following steps to connect an M.2 SSD:
Step 1:
Get a screw and a standoff from the included M.2 screw and standoff packs. Locate the M.2 connector where you will install the M.2 SSD, use a screwdriver to unfasten the screw on the heatsink and then
remove the heatsink. _3 U Step 2:
Locate the proper mounting hole for the M.2 SSD to be installed and then tighten the standoff rst. Insert the M.2 SSD into the M.2 connector at an angle.
Step 3:
Press the M.2 SSD down and then secure it with the screw. Replace the heatsink and secure it to the original hole.

So does that mean its PCle or M.2? In the steps its only mentioning the M.2 SSD while at the start its mentioning both
(When i try build it i will prob figure out as per earthdog suggestion)

M.2 is the form factor. PCIe/NVMe or SATA is the type of M.2 drive. Which do you have? What make and model is the drive? Look it up and see.

PLEASE go ahead and create system specificaitons so we know what you are working with.... I have a feeling there are a lot more questions/threads coming so it will be helpful to add your system specs so we can best help.

Thanks for the patience,
But so does the samsung 970 evo, (which i mentioned in the question description), fit into PCle or M.2?

I updated system specs by the way,
Thanks in advance,

That question has been answered already.

Again, M.2 slot. It is an M.2 form factor drive. It uses PCIe/NVMe PROTOCOLS, it does not and will NOT fit into the PCIe slot properly.

Hey guys,
My case has the option to install 3 extra fans on top, however, the top is closed so I would need fans with high static pressure.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
