So i have a question that might be obvious, but as i just completed my first build with multiple hard drives, i have no idea. I have my OS installed on my SSD, now as far as all my drivers for my mobo, videocard, ect... do they need to be installed on the same SSD as my OS or can i put them on my mechanical drive?

I usually have a separate partition (or separate physical drive) that I format at S: and label SetUpFiles. I put all my installers there.

When you run the installer, DO install the drivers to the OS drive, ie. the SSD. You want the drivers to load as fast as possible, and you NEVER want a driver to fail to load because of some HDD/SSD partition rearrangement. It can leave your PC unstable/unbootable. Drivers always to OS boot drive.

This+:rockout:

I have an SSD for OS, and for my three rigs with SSds, drivers are installed in them.....never on a separate partition.
