Hi guys,

Where is the right place to ask an owner of a specific laptop model to provide me with a dump of his vbios? I need the vbios for Quadro M2200 from HP ZBook 15 G4 Workstation.

Thanks in advance!

Regards

I've found one good soul that has HP ZBook 15 G4 Workstation, but he can't save the bios for some reason, getting error from image. Does anyone has any idea why he would get this error from GPU-Z on a laptop with dedicated MXM card?

If and when graphics are integrated on the CPU then they may not be a dedicated Bios for graphics it can come as an all in one package Bios, in those circumstances I don't think GPU-Z can dump it because technically it is not a video Bios.

As I posted, this is not an integrated card, but MXM Nvidia based card, namely Quadro M2200 in a Zbook Workstation laptop.

In that case, maybe message @W1zzard to find out if it is supported, there are thousands of cards out there and I very much doubt GPU-Z supports every one.

@Tatty_One is pretty much correct. Most laptops have all the BIOS's for gpu's ( integrated and discreet) built into the main bios for the laptop. Some report the bios but they cannot be saved nor modified. My Helios 300 is like that. There have a few posts on here regarding the Zbooks and people wanting to swap out the gpu but run into blacklist/bios issues. If HP does not list a newer bios for your workstation, then I would leave it alone. Better to have a laptop that works and not a pretty paperweight. just my .02

He asked this question awhile back.

Best thing on laptops, leave 'em the piss alone!

I found how to extract the vbios from the Zbook system bios, so I've got what I was looking for. Topic can be closed/archived!
