Looking for a 6+GB NVidia card to use for flight simming, seems like Titans are hard to come by second hand especially in the UK, so I'll most likely be going for the 1060, ATM the price jump to the 1070 is too much.
Long rambling next, skip to bottom if not interested...
That said, I don't feel too good about the cheaper 1060s either, the MSi OC has only 1 DP output, the Asus Turbo is noisy, I don't want a Zotac, and the EVGA ones are all ITX. The lack of reviews on these makes it kinda difficult to judge which one is decent.
Moving up the price line there's more ITX stuff from EVGA (as far as I can tell the cooler on this one isn't too bad though), GB G1 gaming, and Asus Dual, and then the two Gigabyte G1 and Xtreme gaming, the latter with its obnoxiously large cooler.
I've always liked EVGA because of their midrange and reasonably compact designs on the ACX and sig2 cards, but the quality of their midrange stuff seems to have taken a plunge in the last two years. The GB ones are stupidly big, The G1 might fit in my sleeper case, but there's a good chance it doesn't. The Asus dual maybe, but that's completely unreviewed, and I'm not convinced by the VRM of the stock pcb. Leaves Palit, who I have no experience with.
Or maybe the FE cards, but the VRM on the 1060 is pretty crummy and it doesn't have anything else going for it at the 275GBP price point. Unlike the 1070/80 ones, which are also rather unconvincing on the VRM side of things, then again the reviews would say otherwise... Regardless, there's a good chance I just forget overclocking all together, since I'm not really tight on frames.
So can anyone recommend me any specific card of the lot?
My top choices ATM would be the Asus Dual, EVGA SC, and GB G1.
