Simple 6800XT the jump to the 6900XT makes no sense. In some cases its only around 8% faster when there is no CPU bottleneck and at best its 20%. However the price equation means your spending 36% more for 8-20% with the average being around 10-12%.

So if you look at it this way 6800 XT is 100 FPS the 6900 XT will give you 108-120 but at a cost of 36% more. So if we go by the base line thats $350 more for 8 to 20 fps. That works out to $43 per fps at 8% and $17.5 per frame at 20%.

Looking at the RX 6800 vs 6800XT the 6800 XT is $80 more for 15% more on average. That means its $5 per extra frame over the 6800 when going with the 6800XT which then jumps to $17.5 to 43 per frame beyond the 6800XT. Meaning the 6800 XT at least in a performance per dollar sense is the best bet overall since I doubt these GPUs will OC well.

I'm holding out to see what they do in the mid-range. I mean I only bought my 5600 XT a few months ago, so I'll be eager to see if an inevitable 6600 XT / 6700 XT will be enough to tempt me to upgrade. My old rule is upgrade every second generation though, so I might be parked on my 5600 XT for a while.

I already have the 6800 series and enjoying, benchmarking it :). Although I expected higher score, but for causal gaming will be ok...

It'd be 6800xt eyes closed, but I'm kinda torn about RT performance being seemingly only RTX 20 series level.

I'll be splashing out on a 6900xt , although if the 5000series cpu's are as good as expected we may all get a boost to our fps with the cards we have now. I know my V is cpu limited.

That will be an interesting test. :toast:

None, they are too expensive for my budget and I doubt that 6600/6700 would come before January 'thats when I'm planning to buy my new GPU'.

6800XT looks really good. 6800 is too expensive compared to 6800XT. Early leaks show 15-20% perf in favor if 6800XT. The pricedifferance is less than that. The 6800 should have been atleast 100usd cheaper.

Another stupid poll.

~90% of people out there do not buy top-end GPUs and your poll doesn't include midrange and low-end cards which AMD will certainly release sooner or later, which means no option for me 'cause I've been thinking about RX 6600 XT or even RX 6500 but of course I may as well stay with my GTX 1660 Ti which runs absolute most games at FullHD just fine.

my gtx 1070 laptop has grown on me in the last few years. i really don't mind the 17.3" screen for a lot of games either, I think most people would be surprised how quickly you can get used to anything. but the slim bezel designs these days, they could easily make 18.4" screens that fit old 17.3" styles... makes me kind of sad they don't pursue that.

I think you are missing the point here. It's hypothetical, which card you would buy not that you are really going to buy. It's just to see people's perspective on the new upcoming AMD hardware.
At least that's how I take it.

I'm not even clear about the 6900XT. Is it going to be ref design only? Will it be offered by 3rd parties?

Gonna grab either a reference or 3rd party RX 6800XT as soo as it's released here in my neck of the woods, my GB RX Vega64 is dying, so the 6800XT would go to my main rig, while my PC VEGA64 Red Devil will be replacing the GB VEGA64.

Yes he is right but this voting is not to prove that mid-range cards are the most desirable cards.

Voting with your wallet vs voting with your mind is different. My mind might afford the 6900xt but my wallet might only afford a Nvidia 970.

At least that's how I take it.

People don't buy stuff hypothetically, they buy based on their purchasing power. I don't have the power to buy a top end card because the cards themselves are very expensive and then such a purchase will entail further expenses, e.g. there's no point in buying any of them if you have just a 1080p 60Hz monitor. Also, these cards must go toe-to-toe with top end CPUs, like 10900K or upcoming Ryzen 5000 which is yet another thing required to realize these cards potential.

So, you're asking a hypothetical meaningless question which again I cannot answer even hypothetically. It's like asking which model of Porsche or Ferrari I will choose. Fucking none, because I can only afford Hyundai.
