Won't most of us do that? :)

EDIT: On the other hand, if it's meant to be purely hypothetical then maybe just delete the 3 bottom options.

At the good point in overall power consumption 250 W + 16 video memory 256 bit, is good choice will be Radeon RX 6800. So series of the Radeon RX 6700 only to have 192 bit... And hopefully are quite enough to stock.

I'm easily gunning for a liquid cooled 6900XT.

Unproven DXR performance and no DLSS. Drivers for next-gen games is highly questionable like the RDNA mess. Easily skippable.
An Nvidia fan boy.

im an Amd fan boy but man them drivers give me the chills
An "AMD fanboy" running an i7? So in other words an Intel fanboy trying to sell himself as an AMD fan boy - we all know about bait-and-switch tactics.

These people don't understand economics otherwise they wouldn't blow their money on a pro-monopolizing corporations which would reduce consumer choice and drive up prices. They also can't help but come in to a public discussion and display their lack of respect for others.

Sorry W1z .... but that's kinda like asking if a Tinder user will swipe left or right when they can't see the picture. :) Ask again after the reviews are published.

Definition "Fanboi" ... Someone who chooses a PC component by the name, not waiting NDAs to end and performance stats published performance on trusted review sites.

Build List Component (in this case GFX card) Evaluation Process (within specific budget tier and size / power limitations / resolutions for each build): <in order of importance>

1. Rank the performance in games (and applications if appropriate) in TPU test suite, adjusted of course for tested overclocking headroom.
2. Determine if any specific games (or applications) of particular interest vary in a significant manner from above.
3. Ascertain noise impact variations between cards under evaluation
4. Ascertain temp / power impact variations between cards under evaluation
5. Examine total system purchase costs ... it's not whether a card that is X % faster is not worth it cause it's Y percent more money, it's whether a system that is X % faster is worth the entire system costing Y % more.
6. Examine other TCO (total costs of ownership) costs .... need larger PSU ? need additional case fans ? Cost of electricity over anticipated life.

This Poll is great, but maybe have a RX 6700XT or "Other RDNA2 GPU" inserted into the POLL, that's what I would have picked.

I'm good with a 1440p 144Hz capable RDNA2 card myself. The 6800XT and non XT are overpowered for my needs.

Of course I will wait for everything to shake out and pick up a card early next year. BUT, I am leaning to the 6800 or a RTX3060ti. Im sure either one will be sufficient for my needs. Hopefully well see a price shuffle after some time and prices will settle down. I miss the days of $500 high end vgas. I fondly remember buying ATI 1950xts for my folding farm back in the day cuz they were actually affordable.

I too admit Graphics Cards are expensive. I put the blame on Nvidia for price hiking and AMD for not being competitive before RDNA was introduced.
Need to wait till things settle down and prices get to more realistic costs. Then I'll bite in.

Oh clam up, will you? Who the hell are you dictate what the dude can and can't buy? I guess I'm a "poser" too because I'm using an i7 at the moment even though I'd very much prefer to go back to AMD (had an R5 1600, and then a 3600, but kept having problems on an all AMD platform, that forced me to switch) and would in an instant if there were m-ATX boards on the AMD side of things like there are on the Intel side.

There's. Nice variety of mATX Socket AM4 motherboards. Based on the newest B550 chipset.

With MI100 being revealed, it is clear that the ROCm environment has diverged from RDNA / RDNA2.

I was hoping for more similarities between CDNA and RDNA, but it really does look to be two different designs for now. With that being said: ROCm seems to be inching towards better RDNA / RDNA2 support, but I'm not going to be holding my breath for it. If ROCm support comes sooner, maybe I'll consider an RDNA2 card.

I don't think AMD plans on supporting that with its RDNA / RDNA2 designs because these are Stickley for gaming. You will have to look into CDNA.
That said, separating the designs and strictly concentrating on PC Gaming was a very smart move by AMD.

Because the price diff. on paper between 6800 and XT is only 70$. If that difference remains in real world prices (which now thanks to Nvidia are a thing) most people will buy 6800XT, at 600$ price the difference not significant.
But if 6800XT stock is nonexistent and 6800 is available will people wait or buy 6800?

ROCm started compiling for RDNA / RDNA2 in August. Someone at AMD wants RDNA to work. But its probably a low priority.

Even though they're "for gaming" on paper, there's a fair number of advantages in the RDNA ISA that could be useful in some compute applications. The 128 MB cache is interesting, Wave32 is better for branchy code. Etc. etc.

You're trying to "call out" me on me calling out someone being deceitful who is supporting pro-monopolist corporations that have been trying to reduce choice and drive up prices. You can be the one to clam up with him.
