For me, a classic game is one you keep returning to, no matter the age of the game, but they do tend to be from the 90s and early 2000s.
I like to dip into numerous old games, once I've managed to get them going on Windows 10, which is entirely possible with most of them.
One of my all time favourites is No One Lives Forever, a very tongue in cheek, Austin Powers style 60s spy pastiche, with some of the most humorous dialogue of any game I've played.
NOLF 2 wasn't anywhere near as fun, but you could kill your enemies with a banana.

Evolution Mode in Need for Speed Porsche.
I'm around 28 million, playing occasionally.
Wish I'd find a better racing game, where the scenery, music are great and it's not about xp, levels and points, but about driving.

It's just a shame that GOG can't get those games on their store. It's a hopeless mess with the various companies holding rights to part of it and probably never will get sorted out.

This might seem like a classic but I recently started playing Kingdoms of Amalur again. I love the fact that the game supports crossfire as I get 265 FPS at 4K. It looks even better than when I played at 1440P.

As reported in Rock Paper Shotgun a couple of years ago, NOLF is available for free download at:
http://nolfrevival.tk
It's pretty much in IP limbo now, because it seems to be impossible to establish who actually owns the rights, hence no one is selling it.
Please advise if this contravenes forum rules.

It runs fine. I run the GOG version. The original disc one had drm, I believe.

Right now I'm playing Fable: The Lost Chapters. It doesn't really meet the criteria of this thread in the opening post but it's close. Fable (2004) and then Lost Chapters (2005). It's ok so far. I'm on the Escort the Traders Quest right now which is a little tedious for having to tell them to wait and follow so they don't get killed. Those two traders are not the brightest crayons in the Crayola Box.

Saga of Ryzom ... 15 years and counting. I play for 18 months ... take 6 - 18 month vacations. It's nice having a game where the average player age is mid 30s and no tweens and teenagers. Have many families playing with granparents, parents and children
