Don't have the patience to buy individual parts, or the time. So I'm stuck with two choices.

Is the 580W power supply enough to handle the hardware on the first machine?

Okay I got thinking, if I buy the first one and then later on buy an ATI Radeon HD 4850, would that be a better choice than picking the second one?

First one is better.. But I don't get why you wont build it. It takes just as long to ship all the parts than it does for the whole PC.

Is this thread related to the Aprils fool festivity? Your current rig is more than capable of running all those games you've listed at very high settings.

As a few people have said already, system 1 is faster than system 2 because it has the Phenom II CPU opposed to the Q8300. System 2 also has a 9600 GT that makes it the less appealing option.

The 9800 GTX+ and ATI 4850 are at the same performance level, and hence replacing your current 9800 GTX+ for the ATI 4850 is a waste of energy and money and you'll reap little if any benefit.

Your current rig overall is faster than system 2.

When analysing your current rig and system 1 they appear to be similar, apart from the CPU difference which will translate a small performance gap for gaming performance. Regardless of your motives spending $859.99 just for a Phenom II 920 is stupid considering that you can spend $225 for a Phenom II 940 BE and drop it in as erocker recommended. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103471

Edit:

Anyone that disagrees should consider the ethics/morals involved in swaying one to spend $859.99 a Phenom II 920 opposed to $225!
