Which CPU is better...

Okay so im a little rusty in the gaming department for PC's as i haven't owned/built a gaming rig since the Geforce 7 cards came out.

I was wondering which would be better usually everyone says intel but...

I am considering getting the Phenom II x4 955

or the

Intel quad q8300

I've always been a fan of AMD so i may go for it, but price for price if the performance is more than marginal i'll pay the extra 5$ and get the Q8300

This is the set up im getting

Motherboard

RAM

CPU

and the video card and PSU in my specs.

My limit is 350 for RAM,CPU, and Motherboard. so if you know of any changes i should do it'd be awesome!

The AMD is awesome with the L3 cache wish I wasnt so locked into 775 Id def go with that chip.

The Q draws less power but isnt as powerful hahah

ADATA RAM is usually top notch plus with that speed you've got some OC headroom

Ive never bought corsair which is kind of weird....ive tried everything else haha

edit i just got some dominators from Marcam...THEY ROCK!!! I thought they were crucial

955 is faster but if you like to save some cash and think q8300 is fast enough then get Athlon II 620 it is cheaper and overclocks well. Best bang for the buck. Of course it is not match for PII 955 lacking the L3 cache.

....what does easy oc mean??? that my be a option-less bios if you're looking to tweak things

I think you could do hybrid crossfire not sure though

Got all my parts in in less than 24 hours!!

that was fast from new egg ordered it at 2pm yesterday got it in at 12pm today.

I love living in NJ (thats where one of there warehouses are)

Running benchmarks after i install the new o/s etc.
