Which CPU Would You Buy?

Hey Guys!

I'm looking to replace my daily driver (Q9550). I already have all three sockets.. But I guess i'm kinda torn on price and i'll be using Crossfire... So out of the list what would you choose? Thanks!

1366 - i7 940 or 950
1156 - i7 870
1155 - i7 2600k (I want this, but i want to hear from my friends at TPU)

From what I have seen the i7 2600k is a really nice powerful CPU . I would like to get one my self but I have no job and no money to rebuild a computer .

I've got a 2500k with one of the bork board... crunching 24/7 @ 4.5 on air using the sata3. I just hate having to wait on a new board.. hehehe for my 2600k... :banghead:

I would suggest the i7 970, but since it wasn't on your list I voted for the i7 2600K. They seem to be a real nice overclocking and energy efficient cpu.

I have a i7 870, i7 875, and a 2x i7 920s... But, I still want a i7 2600k... so yeah.....

Yea and I used the promo code HARDOCPX3X9D and got $15 off at the egg! :toast:

I've already got a 2500K and it's great! I was able to get it to 4.5 Ghz. So, I'm hoping to get the 2600k to that or higher! :toast:

A guy on a games forum easily pushed it to 4.7GHZ on an aftermarket air cooler and didn't go any higher because he didn't need to, he said it was sitting around 40-50 degrees celcius idling as far as I remember

2600K, and neither SLI nor Xfire, get a single powerful card.
Then SLI/Xfire in the future if needed.

And unless you really want Hyper-threading, you could get by with a 2500K. (If you're trying to cut-back on cost)

Wait until lga2011 hits none of the cpus you list give enough gaming performance boost imo.
