I use to have the clock, the calendar, the weather, a CPU meter that showed all 8 threads and memory usage,power on off button GUI but, I had to disable it (sidebar) when I procured the 50" Plasma for a monitor for fear of burn in .

The CPU GUI was great in helping me figure out usages at times..lol

None. The only time the desktop is showing on my computer is when I'm not using it, so they are kind or pointless.

Plus I have a G510 keyboard(a gen1 G15 before that). So the LCD shows me CPU and Memory Usage, Afterburner information, weather, and POP3 monitor. Which is pretty much all I would use if I did use desktop gadgets.

I ditched gadgets awhile ago. They look like poo and always get moved around. These 4 with rainmeter use less resources than one gadget.

I just use the ASUS PC Probe II to monitor temps when I'm BOINC-ing...

EDIT: I have the taskbar on auto-hide and no icons/shortcuts on the desktop. Minimalist FTW lol
