Tyranny added to the wall of shame. I just can't get into classic fantasy RPG's anymore. I'd replayed Fallout 1 & 2 like dozen of times, finished entire Witcher trilogy but I just can't get into the gameplay style of BG-style RPG's, it's just so dull and boring.

Shadow the Hedgehog
Aah yes, SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG, that edgy sonic game rated E for EDGE. you cant say SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG without OW THE EDGE
With a super edgy intro it turned teenagers into edgelords, and an edgy theme song you'll cut yourself listening to it. You might be wondering is there anything edgier than SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG ?
NO.... Playing SHADOW THE EDGEHOG you'll see the edge meter explode and knives cut themselves to be just as edgey as SHADOW THE EDGE HOG !

Righhhht? So hyped to play it! But first I still gotta finish Sonic 06... ...I'm taking my time. Years, in fact. It's just that good! Almost if not every bit as good as Sonic Boom. They just really wanna make me go out there and get my life together! Feel like youve taken a wrong turn in life? Just play a 3D Sonic game and you'll remember what it's all about real fast!

Really though, what games haven't I finished? Dunno... ...a lot? All of them? Bout the best answer I've got. I mean, if I kept track I'd be finishing games, right?

I don't even want to list my games that I haven't beat.....let alone the list of games I've never even played that I own. Hell, I still have 1-2 dozen physical copies of games I purchased years ago that I never opened...

Don't judge me. You don't know me!

Games I have not beat. Some of them I've played, just never finished and others I've never installed off Steam/GoG to play them yet. I put a decent effort in stopping of buying cheap games while back when physical copies of games just kind of faded away to digital. I've mostly avoided buying anything on Steam/GoG/GMG/Fanatical in the past couple of years, too. Not worth spending the money on games if I can't find a lot of free time to play, plus having so many in my backlog.....just feels like a waste of money to buy games I may never get around to playing.

There's a good slew of reasons why some are on this list, but I don't want to list them, too many games to list a reason for, plus I'm too lazy. Some of these games are physical NIB, going from memory I'll highlight them orange.

Viking: Battle of Asgard - awful control

Renegade Ops - awful control

Grow Home - too boring

Alien Rage - too hard for me, even on easy

Sir, You Are Being Hunted - no possibility to choose the level of difficulty

Hitman Absolution - I have completed about 60%, but the game started to get on my nerves, because of those damn scripts.

Grotesque Tactics 2 - the whole interface is a mess, very unintuitive

Shadowrun Returns - too many dialogues

I don't think I'm gonna go back to these games.
There are too many others to check out.

I finally, finally bought GTA V after wanting it for ages, loaded it up, played about three hours... and never touched it again. That was a year ago. I don't know what happened.

Alien vs Predator - I started the game yonks ago and have since reinstalled Windows twice, forgetting that AvP doesn't sync with Steam, so I've started from the beginning again.
I may never finish it, especially if I get distracted by some other shiny thing.

STALKER series don't capture me as much as Metro did. I played early mission of Shadow of Chernobyl but got bored after a few hours. There are some interesting bits in the game, but it didn't capture me like Metro.

Another game was Watch Dogs or Saint Row series, I can't play GTA-style open RPG that is not GTA. Go figure...

Just in case you or anyone else wants to give Saints Row 2 another try later on, Volition is working on a patch to fix the PC performance issues (10 years later) and they are throwing in both of the DLCs for free which were previously for console only.

Recent games I've not finished

- Pathfinder Kingmaker. So promising until you discover the map is an infinite maze of horror with half the locations being... well. Full of not much at all. Meanwhile you move around that world map on a timer that also counts down towards your next kingdom events... so it feels like a constant race vs the clock to achieve, yeah what exactly. Exploration of nonsense? :D I'm sure its a good game underneath, and I like lots of aspects of it. But this just killed my appetite around Chapter 3 (out of 5?).

- Total War Three Kingdoms. Battles are dull, factions feel overinflated, and the duel mechanic is ridiculous. Sure, it works in movies when a battle is raging around two important people caught in a fierce duel. But in Three Kingdoms, what it comes down to is 18 retinue units standing around waiting for duels to finish when the battle has already been won. And noooo you can't interrupt them because that would be dishonorable...

But that on its own would be fine if the unit roster was more interesting... but its really not. You get spears, halberds, swords, bows... and the same assortment +a horse. Oh yeah, there's a trebuchet. And then there are a few tiered versions of those units. Yay? Its just too bad your retinue is still limited to an even smaller selection per type of general class. I don't know. It all strikes me as a reskinned mobile game. Its shallow as can be. The campaign map is mildly interesting. So what happened yesterday... I fired up TW Warhammer 2 for comparison... and oh wow, Three Kingdoms feels SO lazy now. And the graphics... it confirms too that 3Kingdoms really wanted to be released on iOS or something. Cartoony outlines versus ultra high detail, check. Lack of assets and world variety, check.

Never could bring myself to even finish a single campaign.

Better late than never I'd say! At least there is a fix to these old games (like TR:AoD on 2nd page), be it officially or 3rd party fix. You know we all have tons of backlog of games we don't even touch yet.

I have hundreds of dollars worth of games I picked up on sale over time. Problem is my gaming stamina is near 0 these days. Is this being an adult? Because I don't like it. Most of my steam library hasn't ever been installed.

This is the reality of getting old.

I make it a habit of playing some games as soon as I get home from work for an hour at least.

I think it's probably mostly that you would rather be doing something else. Maybe find some other kind of entertainment to add to your leisure time and just play video games less.

I don't really think getting older has much to do with it. I'm 56 and I play video games just about every day depending on how much time I can put into gaming. Usually around 20 hours a week average. I have been gaming on and off for almost 40 years and I still thoroughly enjoy it. I have ran into several guys on game forums over the years that are in there 70s and still enjoy playing games. That will be me one day. Playing video games and shaking my cane at the kids telling them to stay off my damn lawn. :)

Nah, you are at that point Grampa where your kids have already ditched you. Some of us still have to take care of our kids so that eats into video game time.

Good point. That was why my gaming past was off and on. Raising 2 kids, college while working full time, starting my own business. There were some periods in my life when it was a choice between getting enough sleep and entertainment.

I'm working on building a business. I work nights so I can take kids to school in morning while wife works days. I run on average about 4 - 5 hrs of sleep a day and on weekends one night I may sleep for 12 hrs just to catch up.

The worst mistake CA made was releasing Three Kingdoms after TWWH 1&2. There is so much more to do in those games vs 3K. For me there was also the fact that your generals die over time. I know that the games are Grand strategy but I totally agree with everything you said about the way the game feels and some of the idiosyncrasies.
