Why are you running a 32-bit OS? Until you install Windows 7 64 I vote "neither". You aren't even able to use the full 4GB of your system memory for starters. Read the info at that link.

Obviously, with a 3GB card this would be even worse.

Puma, not to be mean but you are being naive. You can have a 7970 right now and would still have the SAME issue until you upgrade to 64bit. I have GTX 570 1280mb and play BF3 @ 1080p w/ all settings on Ultra and AA/AF and NEVER run out of memory. 32bit memory allocation sucks which is why you are getting that error. There are NO issues with a 64bit OS, hell I run games from the mid-late 90's on my rig.

EDIT: I can also play Crysis 1/2, MW3, Skyrim (modded to hell), without issues. Clearly the 32bit OS is your problem.

grab a 2nd hand 570GTX for sli, another 4gb ram and 64bit win 7. That will sort out your gaming issues

He won't even need a second GTX570 or another 4gb. I played all of those games with my Q6600, 4gb of RAM, and my GTX570 just fine. All he needs is a 64bit OS.

actually it looks like the bug i have had with MW3 has been fixed, just played over half an hour with everything on high and extra settings no crash, it wasn't like that when the game was released.

Also if you shrunk your pagefile when you got a SSD that can cause out of memory errors even if you have plenty of ram left. The whole pagefile thing just shouldn't be messed with.
