I'm not living in USA so pieces are twice that big ... but you made huge step to deceive me ...congratulations

Huge steps? lol I work at microcenter I literally just went down a recent build done for someone. Also trying to figure out how I would know where you live? You didn't exactly fill out the location part of your usercp.

It might be a good idea to inform us of your location (what country you live in) and provide a link to an e-tailer where you can purchase parts. :)

That's the build of Area 51 r2 that i hope can run 3 monitor gaming.

  • Intel® Core™ i7-5930K Processor (6-cores, 15MB Cache, Overclocked up to 3.9 GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
  • Windows 7 ULTIMATE
  • Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX™ 960 with 2GB GDDR5 each (NVIDIA SLI® Enabled)
  • Alienware™ 1500 Watt Multi-GPU Approved Power Supply
  • 16GB Quad Channel DDR4 2133MHz (4GBx4)
  • 128GB SSD 6Gb/s Main + 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s Storage
  • Slot Load Blu-ray Drive (Reads and Writes to Blu Ray/DVD/CD)
  • Intel® 7260AC + BT4.0 [802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.0, Dual Band 2.4&5 GHz, 2x2
  • 4x 288-Pin DDR4 UDIMM Slots

Monitors im consider buying are three Dell S2415H ...

So should i get dual GTX970 SLI or dual 960 is enough? I cannot find proper answer. Im console gamer but sometimes i would like to play MMO on ultra details.
Maybe a single GTX980 is better than sli?

PLease help ... also if you have any good propositions/suggestions on monitors then i'm happy to hear it.
I choiced those because 618.66 $ is max i can give for 3 monitors.

""Yes i have checked http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/surround/system-requirements
surround options but it's nothing compared to actual user experience. So i'm counting on you guys.

Also...why the 5930k? Are you planning on doing a lot of video editing? 4 way SLI? Large data set work? If not, you'd be better off saving a few bucks and getting the 5820k, or going with a Z170 build, and getting yourself a 980ti.

I'm running 970 SLI in my rig with a 5820k and it performs beautifully, but if I were to do it again today, I'd be buying the 980ti.

I was wondering this as well. If it's just a gaming rig, even a i7 6700k would drop the price down considerably and wouldn't impact gaming performance noticeably.

Any 4x4GB DDR4 kit will be fine I just grabbed those because they were a decent kit and on sale.
is there something else that can be upgraded? Or this is an ultimate rig for 3 monitor setup for sure.
I see that you're the only brave one here so what do you think about monitors i mentioned before? I was looking on bezels and they are smallest one but don't know how 60Hz rate atcts in this set up ...
Im dreaming about amoled ones same as my sgs5 ... when its dark and phone is displaying black then i basically lost my orientation where it is. Love it ...

I have the money but im not convinced about TI .... why to buy car when you can drive to school by bicycle.

My bad its just a typo with this dual ... doing 10 things at same time.

So in conclusion to what you said.

960 is poor as fu/ dont bother looking at it
dual 970 is slightly lower than single 980Ti in almost same price
And 3 monitor gaming/working space (im web and graphic designer) require at least 980Ti for smooth work

Im right?

2 more things:
1) The 6GB VRAM on the 980 Ti will definitely help with the ultra wide screen resolutions. Much more so than the shared 2 GB of the 960's in SLI.
2) With SLI you can only use the video output of one card anyways.

I'll say it again, get what you want. Get what makes you happy. :)

Why and why? Any proper explanation? I heard that SLI is nothing more than problems but i never had advanced gaming set up like this. GTX980 TI is too much but Dual 960 or 970 or single 980 is something that i can afford.
If you can afford two 970's you have the budget for a single 980 Ti.

Wait, you can go up to 3300 dollars, without monitors, OS and case, but a 980 Ti is too much? Or did that change halfway through the thread?

EDIT: Apparently it did...

No I don't I can easily find them here it's just the build.
Your looks great but I think that previous one is even stronger. But I will take your ram and cooler.
Total piece of Alienware Area 51r2 with unknown memory, mboard, hdd,etc with only one 980ti would cost me around 4000$.
Which is too much for fancy case.

You centrally convinced me to buy much powerful set up in lower price.

I'm just not that great on combining parts together.
You want stronger? Momento plox

Want stronger still? This is 4k gaming horsepower.
