Which headphone would you prefer?

Hello, There are two MSI headphones, GH20 vs GH30 v2. At the moment they are both the same price at amazon turkey. Which one would you choose at this price? (approx. 20$)

20 bucks you can't really go wrong. The difference is open back vs. closed back. That's your preference.

The GHV30 V2 as this is a 2nd gen for MSI so they would have corrected most issues from the first Gen.

Not helpful. And at $20, who cares?

They look to have the same drivers (probably), so that's not much of a consideration. The GH30 is a little more versatile with the foldable chassis, detachable mic and 3.5mm splitter. If none of that is important, comfort is the likely differentiator. The GH20 looks to have deeper cups.

Objectively speaking, the inner ear is a delicate instrument that can't be easily fixed if it gets damaged. Cheap audio is only designed to work, not protect your hearing. So if there's a bunch of destructive frequencies in there that will do damage then......whoops. You won't notice it until the damage is already done after many hours of use. Not to mention all the people who have to suffer from listening to that cheap mic.

The mic, sure. That's guaranteed to be crap. You're going to need to point me at a white paper or something on the damage thing, though. Amplitude is what damages ears AFAIK, not frequency. So unless these drive severely abnormal levels of infrasound or something, color me skeptical.

Sure, just allow me to search for white papers on "The Damaging Impacts of $20 Gaming Headsets on Human Hearing". I'm sure there's plenty of them.

If we want to split hairs on technicalities, then yes, it's the the amplitude that does the damage. But it's not always at audible frequencies, which is why I said "frequency" instead. Point is, cheap audio is not designed to be gentle on hearing.

Definitely louder than my old Philips SHP-2000. The frequencies are somewhat balanced. Mic quality is good enough. The carrying bag is really good.

Well, louder is a not a measure of quality - though often the human ear perceives it that way.

Anyway, as long as you like them, that's the important thing.

As long as you're satisfied with the sound and fit, it should be ok. If it has a plastic headband though, try to always put on your headset with both hands grasping the earpieces. I've had a few (not this specific model, other headphones with plastic headbands) break on me when I felt lazy and tried to put them on with just one hand.
