Which HeatSink Compounds???

Hi everybody!
My new P4 arrived: With a 2.80GHz clock and hyper thrading it can get really "HOT"!
Of course i want to cool it properly! :cool:

Right now I have 2 thermal compounds infront of me:

1. Ceramique by Arctic Silver
2. MassCool STARS-700 Silver Thermal Compound*

*Thermal Conductivity: >7.5W/m-k
Thermal Resistance: <0.06*C-in(sqare)/W
%10 Metal oxide Compound (silver)

What can keep my P4 cooler?

I have heard good things about Ceramique, for example - no curing time. If u use it, please share your experience, because I am thinking of buying one.

Typically thermal compound that comes with your cooler are crap unless your buying a Noctua i would stay away from it

I already used it a copple of times!!!
The best part:
Its safe to use on electrnocis, because its ceramique!
It cools pritty good!
(I switched from VIO to Ceramique a year ago and temps where 3*C lower!!! lower than the cheap vio paste!)
It lasts for a long time, but its a little sticky and takes patience to apply it on CPU's.

I won the MassCool Silver compound online (FREE

) and because I always here, that silver is a verry good cooling strategy for chips, I thought to ask for your guys oppinion!

AS5 = Cools a little bit better than ceramique
Ceramique = Lasts longer and safer

i agree, ceramique is kinda safer coz when it bleeds it wont short circuit the component
i vote ceramique because of that, :toast:

metal based thermal paste is nice but its kinda risky coz its conductive

try both...

i mean put the masscool, check temps, then apply ceramique and compare temps and apply the best one
