Which is better for me?

Hi guys,
hoping you can answer my question.

Shoud i get a '1gb 9800gtx2 ecs' or a '1gb gtx280 gigabyte' pci-e card?
I'm heavy on gaming and i want sli rendering activated :wtf:

My power supply is 1500ws and i've got 8gb of ram if thats any help :confused:

.
My games quality needs to be PC4 or higher. I've currently got a Nvidia Gigabyte 7600GS CArd and it's soooooo StUpId :banghead:

in what sense ? i mean power consumption and the option to upgrade to sli gtx280's in the future then yes that would be your best choice, but from what ive seen the 9800 gtx2 beats the gtx280 in most games, albeit not by a huge amount but it is the clear winner so if you want raw power now, then that would be your best bet imo

and why have you only listed nvidia cards ? the 4870x2 beats both , and even the 4850x2 is very good and just about edges the gtx280 in most games.

i see these as your 4 main options, its basically down to your budget and preference. :toast:

For the smoothest gameplaying experience, non-sli or xfire is the best, in which case I'd say go 280gtx, I love mine! If you don't mind dealing with xfire, ccc and possible microstutter, I'd go the 4870x2, it's a beastly card and will beat a 280gtx. If you want dedicated physx support, I'd go the 280gtx... Both cards kill, pick your poison!

Oh if he's sli, then dual 280s, I wouldn't want to deal with 9800gx2 sli, plus the 280s are nexgen, they have dedicated cuda processing.. 480sps of processing power!

I say a single GTX 280. It's a solid card with one gpu, so less heat/power consumption(not that you'll need it with a 1.5KW PSU.

Either way each card is killer man!

Hey Onafets, so it seems to me you really want a HD4870 for some reason, well I can see why, I have one and they top notch cards, not as fast as the GTX280 but just right behind, and its a good bang for buck card too.

There is a place called MSY, and there is one located in Auburn, just type in MSY in google and you should be right. here are some prices for you -

-HD4870 512MB = $350 price range

-HD4870 1024mb = $450 price range

-GTX280 1gb = $620 price range

-GTX285 1gb = 690 price range

Its really odd to me that even though as the American dollar sinks in value the card prices keep going down, doesn't that just put an insane drain on the card sellers? Since they're all international companies.
