7800gtx or x850xt?

edit:
oopz i mean in games like doom3, quake4, wow, everquest2, lineage2, dark messiah, fear.... generally only in sm2. in sm2... which is better picture-quality? image-quality? visual-quality?

repeat.... image-quality on sm 2.0 alone

what do you mean picture quality ? in games ? i believe the ati have the better image quality or used to anyway when them cards where out although im sure the x850 is only sm2 and the 7800gtx is sm3, if i were to choose a card to game with it would be the 7800gtx as its a gen ahead of the x850

thinking to get 7800gtx..for fun, but want to know if the visual-quality is better than x850xt or not.

ati generally better visual-quality but does it implies for generation difference? 7800gtx vs x850xt.... which is better image-quality in shader model 2.0?

X850XT only has Shader Model 2 compared to the 7800GTX's SM3 so the quality would be by far, much better. Even if they were both to render in SM2 I think the 7800GTX would still be better, not to mention the much higher performance.

If you were comparing the 7800GTX to the X1800/1900 then that would be a different story since they both have SM3.
