core 2, in a custom p.c. (u.k. mag) test in the most cpu intensive game they tested (medieval 2) the athlon fx62 was the only one that could keep up with a 6300, as for a 6600? it's obvious

Core 2 hands down. It takes an Athlon X2 3GHZ+ to attempt to reach the 6600's benchmarks at stock speed.

Core 2 is the top gaming chip currently.. AMD will probably release a new chip sometime in the near future that will beat it though.

I have an E6600....and it took me all of a day to learn how to OC. So the Core 2 Duo stock....and then the Core 2 Duo OC to 3.2 or 3.4 or higher depending on your cooling...

The AMD 5200 would have to be like 200$ cheaper for me to consider buying it over any C2D

Yeah, which is why I bought the Brisbane and OCed it. A mobo, CPU, and ram for cheaper than just the E6600 chip.

Who voted for AMD?
The E6600 will kill it.

But then again the 5200 goes for $220 around here in the US and the E6600 goes for $322.
Def. a decent price damage.
But E6600 hands down
