Which LGa1156 board

I'm gonna go to LGA1156.

The specs for the rest of the rig are in my side thing (Except for some GSKILL DDR3 1600 9-9-9-24).

I'll be swapping out the Athlon II X4 and the Mobo. I plan to get a Core i3 530 or 540.

I plan to overclock the rig, which is why I'm making the move.

It's used mostly for watching youtubes and sometimes playing a game or two. Which motherboard should I pick? I don't need Crossfire or SLI. I'd also like to spend as little as possible. I'd also like to avoid Gigabyte (never had a problem with em, they're great, im just bored after having a GB board for a long time)

How is this EVGA board?

EVGA P55 LE 123-LF-E653-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX I...

Drawbacks to it? Benefits? Any other boards that provide the same level of awesome for a lesser price? Other boards you'd recommend?

There was a EVGA P55 FTW in the BST for $140 a minute ago. I was never a fan of the LE. I just prefer the extra phases, 100% solid state caps, and just overall better build quality of the SLI/FTW/Classified boards- prob will help with achieving your OC as well.

I would PM cesthree and see if he is still willing to sell the FTW (it did not sell, he removed it from this thread). If no, I would probably see about getting at least the P55 SLI board.

I didn't look too closely, I just grabbed the link. I am looking to buy in a few weeks, to give myself time to look at everything.

Does EVGA transfer warranties? Are there boards from other brands worth lookin at??

EVGA does not transfer warranties. The ASUS you linked to looks nice, the ECS Black Series boards are sweet looking and seemingly well made as well. I built a budget rig a little bit ago with a MSI board and I was impressed with it- they can be cheap too.

I grabbed an Asus P55 Deluxe and I am happy with it I don't remember if there are any phase differences between it and the pro, if there aren't I wish I had gotten the pro but as it stands I like it a bunch

Here it is on water. Colder will get you way over 5GHz. The USB3 is basicly the same thing as well.

Any of the Gigabytes will net you the same results...go for the cheapest one. If not into overclocking then most anything will do.

Does it have to be ATX? You can get mATX MSI boards cheap, and even cheaper OpenBox on NEwegg if you want to gamble. The one I built is still going strong.

Well, I was more hoping for a full ATX with price <150. Is that sabertooth board any good ?

1. Full aTX
2. <150

Here ya go... MSI P55A-GD55 LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.... ...You can upgrade later to a 8xxxseries i7 chip later if you want.

Missed this one - ECS has their stuff together now? silly that they'd price that board so high when their reputation can't come near it. no one wants to risk $300 on a board from a mfr with a spotty track record

Silly me, I didn't notice how overly priced they were

The rig I built had the mATX version of that MSI board. 10 rear USB ports, that was pretty insane.
