Hi all. Ill get a new rig, and was wondering about some options. Since Im a noob in terms of overclocking I was hoping to listen to some educated suggestions on a new rig. Basically it would be an i5 750, and mobo Asus P7p55d-e Pro. Now on the memory, I was wondering about these:
1-G Skill ECO Series, 1600mhz, 7- 8-7-24, 1.35V
2-Mushkin Enhanced Redline, 1600mhz, 6-8-6-24, 1.65V
3-Mushkin Enhanced Blackline, 2000mhz, 7-10-8-27, 1.65V
4- Kingston HyperX T1, 2000mhz, 9-9-9-27, 1.65V
5- G Skill Pis series 2000mhz, 9-9-9-24, 1.65V
They all are 2x 2gb DDR3.
I was wondering if it would be best to oc the i5 along with 2000mhz memories or maybe a 1600 would do just fine? Secondly was wondering if the eco series have any advantage(performance wise) other than the fact that it runs with a lower voltage. Please post ur thoughts on those, or also on other memory sets not listed here, as well as the rest of the set up(proc and mobo). Keep in mind that im still learning about oc, so I wouldnt be too inclined to go nuts on it. With that said, Id like to get just decent speed without getting a considerable decrease on the processor lifetime, and just using air cooling. Thanks.
