Why buy a GTX1080 FE?

Both look fine to me.

Well, you could save about $100 if you go with a non-reference GTX1080.
hmm, the GTX 1080 Founders Edition is the most powerfull is it not?.. Anyway, atm Money isn't the problem.. :) i just kinda wanna know which one is most powerfull setup :p
should i go for the newer motherboard + cpu with only 4 cores or the older one with 6-cores. :p

If it's for gaming only, not rendering/video editing and stuff like that, I would probably go with the Skylake build.

You could even save some cash and go with i5 6600 or i5 6600k if you plan to OC.

Founders Edition is the same as what Reference used to be. If the 1080 is anything like the 980ti, and it is, expect very nice custom cards at better or equal pricing.

i don't quite follow ? i'm new to this.. this is the first time i've ever had thought on what components should be in it.. :)

But it's to my understanding that both these machines can run All the Blizzard games at max. settings and still run smooth at 40+ FPS at all times ? yes?

IIyama G-Master GB2788 27'' FullHD 1ms (144Hz Gaming Series) (1920 x 1080p, 16:9)

ASUS 34" PG348Q - 100HZ (3440 x 1440, 21:9, Curved)

1080p....makes sense blowing 2k+ on a rig to play at 1080p....

Dude, i have a 65" 4k Tv.. i can use if i want.. but i don't have a screen for the computer... so a 1080 screen is only until i can afford a better one.. don't judge..

Have a look at this one... https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG348Q/

Ohhhhhh yes. Man. Yes indeed. You'll do 144Hz at 1440p in Blizzard games.

As for the Founders Edition, it is the equivalent to this, the "basic" version. Something like this will eventually come along.

Ofc, i won't need 1440P 144Hz for Blizz games. :p Just nice to have, no?

So the Founders edition isn't all that great... how long do we expect to wait for a better one? like a month?.. 4 months?..

There is almost no difference when it comes to these 2 cpu's in gaming, so I would go with skylake. The GTX 1080 founders edition is not the fastest version, and I would go with a custom card .They will be available soon.

Short answer: yes ...

long version: since my main rig (under system specs under my avatar) can do it (except that i have a FHD 60hz 1ms monitor and a i5-6600K + 980 as CPU/GPU pair ... ) even by paying less you can achieve what you ask and way more ;)

Blizz game are not ... really what i call "hungry" games ... even the latest, and also with low/med settings ... they look good enough, in the case of overwatch  and still get 60fps stable on a box (i3+GTX 750Ti+8gb) that cost the price of the 980 in my main rig.

Soon.. Is that within this month? :) that i Can wait for.. But as it's a Pre-build i'm not sure they Will put in Custom cards..?

And before you guys go all apepoop on me for buying a pre-build when i could build it myself for less.. I had my friend take a look at it.. He Said the same.. But he can't make a build like this cheaper. But he Said i should go for the X99...

I'd really like to know that the Real difference is..

funny ... i'm sure i could make it cheaper, where do you live, and what are the price of the 2 rigs, for reference?
take the Skylake wait a bit more and newer prebuild will be added to the list, probably with more useless 1080 (custom hopefuly ) or look at one prebuilt with a 980/980Ti they still rock the place in and out ... specially if you stay at 1080p up to 1440p

(useless is imho and imho only ... yaaayyy Volta here i come ... or Vega ... maybe or ... Polaris if the 480 pricing and perf/watts is confirmed )

Well.. Anything Will be an upgrade for me actually.. As i run on an old Packard Bell iMedia S3210... It Can barely run WoW with all settings on low

There only mabye a handfull of games, thats so CPU intensive that X99 "can" be a very small advantage, but nothing that you cant fix via OC. For strictly gaming Skylake is more than enough.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
That last part i didn't get..?
don't worry it's only a personnal parenthesis on how i can still wait until the next AMD/nvidia release or nvidia price drop (if there is any) ;)

Well.. Anything Will be an upgrade for me actually.. As i run on an old Packard Bell iMedia S3210... It Can barely run WoW with all settings on low
yep anything will be an upgrade ... maybe try to look for a i5-6600/6600K with a 980/980Ti or a 1080 (custom instead of reference, they are starting to get listed where i live )

The X99. Is Approx. 17 000 Danish kroner =
2 285.16062 Euros

The Z170. Is Approx. 15,000.00 DKKDanish Krone= 2,016.59 EUREuro

i see the price difference between the two prebuild is not "too high" (by my own criteria) ..., the X99 would be, indeed, the most interesting of the two, althought i would not recommend a i7 for gaming but rather a i5 (since some game don't like HyperThreading, but blizz games are not in that "exception" case iirc ) but that's a personal preference (based on experience also ) both setup will give you the result you expect and as the money is not an issue, indeed why not go the X99

There only mabye a handfull of games, thats so CPU intensive that X99 "can" be a very small advantage, but nothing that you cant fix via OC. For strictly gaming Skylake is more than enough.
also that^
