Just dont get 1 500GB HDD, get 2 HDDs. 1 with 120GB space for Windows and downloads and 1 with 320GB+ space for backup and games. That way if you wanna format or even if one goes down the other will still be ok :)

actully guys Im not buying a new system (Ive only just put this one together lol)

Ben Clarke (another TPU member) and I had a little challenge going on, basically, build a good gaming sytem for a grand. System 1 was his build, system 2 was mine, and has I thought, mine would be the better of the 2 ;)

A grand in POUNDS, right? Because in dollars, that system right there would easily be 1700-2000.

Either that or you're getting everything off Ebay and pirating Windows .

    And I'd take system 2.

stop dissing OCZ PSU's :( this whole ripple crap doesnt affect most of their PSU's, or i wouldnt be getitng high OC's off their weaker product lines (i havent used the 1KW PSU, but the gameXstreams are just fine)

I'd have chosen #1 if it had a weaker PSU and the X-fi, it'd almost be my system then, and i know its fast and OC's well whilst being stable.

SInce i cant choose, #2 is it.

    2168.38 at the current rate.

ebuyer.co.uk, and Windows would be OEM.

    Bah.

But I'll keep in mind what's posted here.... less powerful PSU's, and better mobo's. I completly forgot the Commando was out...

System Two. :p But BOTH of yous could do with a so called "PSU Downgrade". Swap it for a Corsair 620. Hmm... ill compete :p

    Processor: Core 2 Duo Q6600
    Memory: 2x1GB G.SKILL PC6400 4-4-4-12
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-NF6-DS4
    GPU: EVGA 8800GTX 786MB
    Hard Drive: Seagate 500GB SATAII
    Case: Performance one ANTEC 900
    PSU: Corsair 620W
    Optical Drives: 2xSATAII LG DVD+RW+DL+RAM

Audio is onboard due to the issues surrounding non intergrated solutions.
