hence playing one of the later ones.

Don't get me wrong I am not one of those who won't play a game solely based on how pretty it looks, though I have to be in the mood to play through old school titles which I am a lot but just not today :eek:

By later you mean games made by Crystal Dynamics? Then play none.

If you want to play some classics play either of these:

Tomb Raider, Angel of Darkness, The Last Revelation.

The new over the top one was great. I didn't even like the TR series, but that game was a lot of fun, I highly suggest it. And it's Co-op if you got a friend that wants to play.

I have Tomb Raider: Anniversary. I like the game alot, but I can not play it. The background movement/blur seriously starts to give me seizure's. My eye's start twitching and the symptoms will stick around and show up for a few days even after playing TR:A. Not good! This is the only PC game that does this to me. Just wanted to share if you were to pick this game.

I agree TR2 is cool. All Tomb Raider games are great except for the last three games (those with super weapons as you mentioned above). However OP wants the last games because of the graphics.

@ 1Kurgan1 Guardian of Light is no Tomb Raider game. It's a spin off.

A fan of the rest of the series might say that. I'm not one of them, when I look up Tomb Raider on Steam, Guardian of Light shows up as a result, thats good enough for me. It's the only Tomb Raider I have ever enjoyed.

If you're up for physically challenging puzzles that none of the rest offer to the degree that it does, look no further than Anniversary. It also has some slower paced, fairly cerebral puzzles and great combat scenarios against a wide range of enemies.

...Anniversary by far stands out as the best of those. It's really a shame, no, a disgrace, that Underworld was so dumbed down. It literally has you kicking apart clay pots laying out in the open to get artifacts vs dedicating entire, elaborate puzzle rooms, with obstacles, hazards and timers like Anniversary does.

The primary theme of Tomb Raider is risking life and limb to retrieve rare artifacts and relics. When they dumb that aspect of the game down, it makes it like a mere adventure game vs action adventure. I certainly hope the next one will get back toward what they did with Anniversary.

I can't remember which one it was (Legend, Anniversary or Underworld) but at about the 15 hour mark of the game I got stuck in a perpetual death save. When the game auto-saved, I was just about to die. So every time I loaded the game I died right away..... :mad:

If your looking for new GFX but good gameplay and sticking closer to the origional games try out Anniversary 2nd choice would be legend i think the worst out of them all was angel of darkness
