Which would you go for and why?

1. Radeon X1800 XT 256MB
2. Nvidia 7800 GT 256MB
3. Nvidia 7900 GT 256MB

From what I can remember I thought the 7900 GT was supposed to be faster than the x1800 XT. I don't remember though. I would look for bencmarks and overclockabilty and find which one gets you the most bang for your buck.

Whatevers the cheapest! All decent cards, all will play my games at 1280x1024 (max res of my TFT) with all settings on max and probably will do so for the next 2 years so why spend the extra for no "real world reason"

either the x1800xt or the 7900gt whichever is the cheapest.. the 7800gt is a lesser breed.. but as tatty says they are all good cards.. if the 7800gt is noticably cheaper than the other two it complicates things.. but its the lesser of the three cards..

7900GT, simply because it can be clocked to GTX speeds usually or better.

X1800XT TOP from asus, it scores better in Oblivion , and i think it will score better in future games whit PS3
