Hello everyone.

I don't know which motherboard to buy for an i7-13700k this is my first assembly after 8 years.
I have only used Gigabyte and Asus motherboard.

I am looking for a board that has at least 6 SATA ports. I have several hard drives.

I found two that look interesting
-Gigabyte Z690 Aero D DDR5
-Asus ProArt z690 Creator DDR5

What do you think about these motherboards?

Or what other boards do you suggest?

I've seen that most Asus motherboards have 4 SATA ports at most, only the ROG ones have 6.

I plan to put it together with a RTX 4080, 32 GB DDR5 5600mhz Corsair, NVME 1TB 4.0 as system and lastly a 1000w power supply from Corsair.

I would use it for gaming and work.

Thanks

Given the price difference these two boards really aren't even in the same class the Asus board is better but do you need all the features it offers over the gigabyte one also if you plan on spending over 400 usd on a Z690 board you are better off spending a little more and getting the Z790 variant that from what I've seen offer much better memory support.

I like the asus bios a lot better but as far as build quality assuming a similar price range they are similar enough but as far as support/CS goes even though Asus isn't the best I'd still lean towards them over Gigabyte.

Assumption here is you are using the computer for work? Both are workstation orientated. For example the ProArt has like 72hr of burn-in to make sure there is no DOAs. GB Aero has Displayport in so you can run a art tablet screen (the ones you can write on) as your primary. Things like that is what makes them different vs the gaming SKUs. Also I think the QVL list is whole lot longer.
