hello

I'm going trough an important PC upgrade and i got a new motherboard : Gigabyte GA-P35-S3G.

now the problem is since i decided to get me a nice 4gb ddr2 800 memory set .. I'm worried about compatibility with the mobo .

can anyone that ever had this mobo before help me make a choice ?! :)

I'm thinking about one of this :

first of all thanks for your post .

i know that . but my budget is limited and from whats i have now ddr2 800 will be a huge upgrade. dont worry about that .. :)

and oh yeah i dont live in the states so the ram choice is also limited . :ohwell:

well do you think a 2gb 1066 is better for a pure gamer than 4gb 800 ? cuz i can afford that .

and i have a question since im really confused about memory timing . wich of this 2 is better CL5 4-4-15 or CL5 5-5-18 ? and can you explain why .

peace

hi,
for gaming you need two thinks :good graphic card and cpu with hi speed.the difference betwen ddr2 800 vs ddr2 1066 its around 4-6 fps .look farCry (1054HQ)!.

But if you want increase cpu FSB (Overclock) for best results in frames/sec you need also ram can support hi fsb(more easy for overclocking).here Memory Timings Explained http://www.techpowerup.com/printarticle.php?id=131

im having my cousin purchasing the hardware for me and he lives in Holland that's why im worried about the ram since if i get me a not compatible one its a pain in the ass to ship it back for another one . :ohwell:

so im still waiting if anyone has ever had this mobo before or currently using one to help me with this issue :)

A 500+ FSB is not unheard of...and the 1066 is guaranteed if you buy it that way....not always true if you buy 800MHz ram....gotta think ahead sometimes...I say buy 1066 if you have access to it and plan to OC that rig at a later date!
