No. That is a Socket AM3 motherboard, the FX 9590 requires an AM3+ motherboard, and a pretty high end one at that as not all AM3+ motherboards support the FX 9000 processors.

The best processor you can put in the M4A78 is a Phenom II 1090T.

Sure if you want to kill it. That's a huge power hog of a cpu that will actually probably kill the board.

Nope. Its more of a hardware limitation. :-(
Should i do it anyway? or will that risk destroying my motherboard and the fx cpu?

Seems like you already have made up your mind so just go ahead and stick the CPU in and watch the magic

I think every quote as below says it all:
Sure if you want to kill it. That's a huge power hog of a cpu that will actually probably kill the board.
No FX support for that board and a 9590 draws way too much power for it
I wouldn't risk it. VRMs will go poof as soon as any load is placed on it.
So no, you probably shouldn't do it if you care about your hardware.

Seems like you already have made up your mind so just go ahead and stick the CPU in and watch the magic
Could I get a front row seat for this?

I'm pretty sure the CPU won't even physically fit in the socket. AMD put an extra pin on the FX processors so they can't be inserted in AM3 motherboards.

You seriously need to just accept that it isn't going to work.

Do you own an ABC fire extinguisher?
Get one handy, just in case. Also, where do you live? Because if you're close, I want to be there! I even have my own pair of safety googles!!

Not true. A lot of AM3 boards could fit and support AM3+ CPUs just not his

Do you have the money to upgrade to an Intel system or Ryzen or do you have the Money for Replacement Parts
Cause with the ""Should i do it Anyway"" things will probably happen in an expensive "Way"

PS Check your Insurance is up to Date Just in case :)
