Hey Everyone,

I had my main hard drive go bad, so Now I'm looking to replace it.

I'm running on my old XP drive for now, so at least I have a crutch to wobble on until the new drive to replace the Win7 x64 one.

I looked around and found these 2 drives, and wonder if anyone has experience with them, or can recommend any more:

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB

I can't afford a raptor or SSD just yet, so this is really the best for my budget. If anyone has experience with any of these please let me know.

I also think the WD black is the way to go..I have 2 500 Blacks as a single drive they get 100mb/s average and in Raid I'm getting 180mb/s average

I vote for the Samsung Spinpoint F3. It's very fast and pretty quiet also, and if you get in on a deal they're only $70 to $80 shipped.

Oh yea, 2 of these in raid 0 avg. 220mb/sec read/write I think. That's like a SSD w/ 2tb of storage.
