Windows 10 Vs Windows 7 ultimate.

I don't know how is happening but maybe i would update to W10.

Pro and cons?

Ehhh, I don't want to vote because I'm mixed. I've had some rather frustrating experiences with Windows 10 due to how updates are rolled out but, when it works I think it's better than Windows 7. When I put Windows back on any of my machines, it will most likely be Windows 10. If 7 is working for you and you don't have a need to go to 10, then I would wait unless you really want DX12 or something.

10 in most cases. Having the option to try both on the 7 key, might as well! Just create a backup image of your 7 install before upgrading.

The reason why i was thinking to update is because last night i have downloaded Fifa 2017 demo and everything was working as it should but today when i was playing the Demo i got this error several times:

Honestly i don't know, i just have the Disc Image File that says: Win10_1607_German_x64

It uses whatever the key you're using is, more or less. I had 7 Pro and got 10 Pro when I upgraded, same with my wife's (now dead and former,) laptop.

And what about the error that i posted, i wanted to buy the Game tomorrow but now i don't know if i should buy it.

If i am not wrong that W10 is the anniversary Version, i have seen many people crying because that version is shit.

Honestly, if you have access to 10, you can try it but, it's a lot of work just to get a game to work. The real question is, how much time do you want to commit and how much does it matter to you?

What have you done to resolve the error?

- Reinstall the game.
- Reinstall DX
- Reinstall GPU drivers
- Check for errors reported in event logs to further chase down the culprit.
- Repair the installation of the game.
- I Googled "Fifa 17 Windows 7 directx error" and came up with this link that might prove useful to you, there's a DX statement near the bottom of the article that links to other solutions but says that Fifa 17 has known and common DirectX issues, so might be worth researching more before you buy anyways.

Hopefully you can get it resolved.

Also if you use the free upgrade for assisted services route to 10, then you can go from Ultimate to Home, Pro, Education or Enterprise as listed here.

Depending on your hardware and software you use I guess, with your current system W10 should run good, but for me with older Hardware and software I have found W7 to be alot better for me and even in gaming performance its been better.

I recently setup a Dell OptiPlex 790 (new for 2011, i5 2500, DDR3, 250GB HDD) with a GTX750 Ti for my nephew. I had a chance to use 7 and 10 on it albeit breifly, and even though 10 wasn't officially supported so no drivers downloadable from Dell, the upgrade went smooth and overall the system seemed more responsive and noticeably so on reboots and cold boots (due to how W10 works that's no surprise for cold boots). I couldn't be happier with the deployment on an OEM system of this age. I have also seen some older systems that also had issues, performed worse or flat out wouldn't work with 10...they were usually closer to 10+ years old at that point and not worth pursuing...some were a bit younger than that and just ran on 7 better due to support and drivers most likely.

Frankly it is something that should be tested on old systems as some work excellent with 10, and some work better with 7. YMMV. If you have a backup hard drive, why not make an image of it and test both?
