Thats simply not true, Window's ME was by far the worst...... and some! It was about as much use as a one legged man in an arse kicking competition. It was supposed to replace Windows 98 and almost single handidly dragged Windows back to the Cro magnun man edition.

XP is the only modern OS that has no more planned Service Packs.

Vista is expected to get a SP3 sometime in 2011. Regular Vista, with no service packs will not recieve any new security updates, SP1 must be installed to continue to recieve security updates.

There is surprisingly little difference between Vista and Win7 at this point, so I don't see what you are basing your point on. For the average user I see no reason to upgrade to Win7 from Vista. I'd really think it would best to elaborate on why you believe this, otherwise you come off as a troll.

And those opinions are based on what exactly? Why do you hate Vista? Part of the release of Windows 7 was to get away from the Vista name that will always be a sore spot for MS, even if the bashing has nothing to do with facts.

The only real reason I decided to switch from Vista to Seven recently, was because I was able to get the 64-bit ultimate version for 50 USD from my university.

If that was not the case, I would have stuck with Vista, because quite frankly, it served me excellently.

Back on topic, I am awaiting this Service Pack One for Seven

Yeah after proper driver support and a couple Service Packs Vista is no longer the clunky nightmare it was at release.

Microsoft recommends that organizations do not need to wait for SP1 to begin receiving the value of Windows 7 today as we don’t anticipate the SP1 for Windows 7 to be substantial.

Doesn't look like the desktop OS service pack is going to feature much at all other than already released updates.

Perhaps this will be good for people who have not yet purchased Seven.

Instead of buying a Vanilla Seven and then waiting for some time to get all the updates, they can buy a Seven install DVD that already have SP1 installed, aka all of the updates to Seven vanilla->SP1

It was just something someone once told me was all, i haven't bothered to look into it (maybe it was SP3?)
Im surprised XP will be supported to 2014, im sure i last read that it was till the end of 2010? o well good for XP users i guess.

When it comes to the OS that i fix the most it would be XP but only because the owner hasnt got an up to date anti virus, they use limewire :shadedshu, or not enough system memory (system just slows down to a crawl)

Vista i get the same problems as above^ but i also get alot of registry errors with Vista and thats a real pain in the ass.

Windows 7 none so far.

If you don't want grating comments then don't make them yourself. Just saw in another thread you saying some bs about crysis, but I don't think you're a troll. You appear to be one of the millions upon millions of people that just soak up and regurgitate unreasonable hate for whatever you see the masses ripping on blindly. I'd fault you for it if it wasn't human nature, the basic needs of following group mentalities and finding things to hate are seemingly in inescapable in a human society.

If you want support information on all the MS products, look here. End of support = no more updates. It looks like it's kinda down atm as there is no information on any products, but that's where you should go for such info.

No, a troll is someone that comes into a topic, bashes something that only vaguely has anything to do with the topic with nothing to backup the statement.

It isn't trolling to ask you to back up your statements or opinions, no matter how much you dislike the fact that you can't, sorry to break it to you. If you don't want to be called out on your "opinion" and can't back it up then don't post it. If you can't back it up, then it obviously isn't a good opinion either, and you should think about re-evaluating it.

And I didn't call you a troll, I said you come off as one if you just make a bold statement and don't say why. If you don't want to come off as a troll, then back your statement up, simple. But it if obvious to me that you can't, because if you could you would have already instead of evading the topic and making personal attacks instead.
