When WHS actually ships, rather than being downloadable or sold as a shrink-wrapped product, it'll primarily come preloaded on various dedicated devices like the recently announced HP MediaSmart Server
Hopefully by "primarily" they don't mean "only", this sounds pretty sweet, you could get by the max 5 connected users issue (or is it 10?) with this I bet.

^ its ten...

i dont know. it sounds like crap to me. i mean you have to install drivers on the client computers to get it to work. IMHO a server should not require any drivers.

im sticking with my 300gb + 120gb hp media vault. if anyones woundering here are the specs. keep in mind that tghis is NOT a requlare x86 computer.

300mhz proc
64mb of ram (but has a HUGE pagefile)
300gb 7200rpm 8mb cache sata 300 hdd
3 usb 2.0 ports

Sounds like a "Media Center - Windows Server 2003" hybrid...

:)

* I don't need it, others might though... I * think * I saw something about this here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...tartDate=3/6/2006&period=30&sortCriteria=date

The other day in fact, but NOT 110% sure... & I'm not going to look again now, lol, because it's time to make some chow, lol!

P.S.=> Nevertheless, thanks for the "good word" Wile E... always good to stay informed! apk
