I have two monitors connected to a ASUS GTX570 though HDMI and DVI-D. Recently I have noticed that some colours such as light blue are not showing up on the monitor connected through HDMI. This is a problem because I did not notice the highlighted boxes. I went into device manager for no apparent reason and noticed that windows was recognizing that both my monitors are analog, which is not possible as both cables are digital only. Does anyone know whay this might be happening? Thanks

Did you use the VGA prior to using the DVI/HDMI?

Nope, I have always used HDMI/DVI with this graphics card. I have had used VGA cable with a DVI to VGA adapter on my old 9800GX2 because I was having problems getting a signal out with HDMI and DVI, could that be related?

Might have a bad cable. DVI supports digital and analog and maybe some of the HDMI wires are connected to analog pins.

I'm using a DVI-D cable which should only support digital signals and I think HDMI only has digital signals? Not that sure about HDMI, but I have tried multiple DVI cables and they all had the same problem.

"Acer S232HL(Analog)" is the name of the monitor. It does not mean it's an analog signal. The connection going from your GPU to your monitor with HDMI or DVI is entirely digital. Run the "Calibrate color" setup and adjust your gamma.

I connected the monitor with DVI-I on another computer and it just showed up as "Acer S232HL". I ran the calibrate colour and it fixed some colours not showing up but the colours still look washed out ( the blacks are more like greys, even when I adjust the monitor settings)

it might be an issue with the drivers, try uninstalling both of them and refresh device manager by clicking "scan for hardware changes".

oh, look for a mode toggle in the monitor settings. mine has a setting called "AV mode" that really screws with image quality, and it was on by default.
