XP x64 was finicky back in its day with Athlon's and Pentium III/4. Your system is too new and probably causing issues... there was limited support from vendors back then driver-wise...so good luck with XP64 drivers for a newer system.

Stick with 7, 8.1 or 10. Even Vista SP2 x64 would be a far better option than XP x64 IMHO.

If you want to run XP x64, what you could consider (and still might have issues), if you're running Windows 8 or newer, you can install Hyper-V as a feature in programs and features...this is the same as Windows Server Hyper-V, and you could create a virtual machine of XP to play with on your PC.

No, in some instances its better when messing around with OSes because you can control the environment the OS operates in...a controlled sandbox. :)

I run several VM servers at home that don't know any different. In some cases, such as that, VM's can be better as they can expand the breadth of which a single system can operate to better utilize its available resources. :toast:

you need ahci driver to install

you have to use ide mode

I can install xp64 easily but you soon hit roadblocks like finding a modern web browser that will work etc. XP64 is so very limiting.
