Now comes into my possession a Steam key for this game, I already have it from GOG.com, so what to do? If you answered "host another giveaway!" you would be correct! Since things have been a little slow here lately, I figured I would liven it up a bit.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a First-Person creepy/supernatural/detective adventure game, all mixed together beautifully with stunning scenery. Now when I say adventure, I don't mean point and click. You walk in first person, investigating clues and finding out just what happened to Ethan Carter, who sent a letter to you for help. The creepiness and atmoshphere is excellent!
This game will NOT in any way shape or form hold your hand. It won't tell you where to go, and there is no HUD or map or compass. You walk as if you were a real person looking for clues in the town and surrounding environment. If you search well (and you can go just about anywhere), there are crime/murder scenes where if you gather the clues, you can put together the events at each scene. If you put them in the correct order, you get a nice cut scene of the events that happened at that location, which will bring you closer to determining the fate of Ethan Carter. Do this for all of them, reach the final crime scene, and you will ultimately prevail.
Oh, and it's FREE!
So what do I need to do to enter, you ask? Well, here goes:
1. Have a Steam account.
2. Have been a member for a week, and have at least 10 posts and 2 thanks by the time contest closes.
3. Because I'm always on the lookout for games I might not have played, play along and tell me your favorite creepy or supernatural or detective game you have played(it can be any or all of the three types), and what was so good about it. I'm sure everyone has at least one of any of those categories. **This last one is optional, but is much appreciated if you participate, as most of the people who have been around awhile know that some interesting answers are frequently given.
I will keep this open 2 to 3 days, as long as there is sufficient interest before drawing a random winner. If people are interested, I may keep it open a bit longer.
Good Luck all!
