For me Ive found that the more you spend the better the speed/range.
Not sure about you guys but I hate my wireless dropping out so I tried to get a decent wireless setup. Ended up buying a DLink DWL-G520M and a DI-634M Router.

Never had any drop outs to this date :D

Thats not ALWAYS the case.

I got this cheapy SMC wireless router (thinking it would be crap, but hey, it was $40 new :p) and its great. I never get drop-outs, and you can pick my router up from your house sometimes reven :).

Easily.
You need to take in consideration the distance and the objects between computers though.

Some locations are ill suited for wireless, like trying to connect to a router through 6 or seven walls filled with insulation :p

hmmm, i dont think they have 6 or 7 walls full of insulation. and the distance isnt too far. my other cousin has long way from his comp and the router and its a no-name brand. he gets full connection all the time.

from my prespective (for wireless) the best thing is a integrade wifi for the laptop and a 802.11g router and for the brand an netgear is cool looking(even if if is too much of apple look) and rock steady.... and it will cost a 60n euros

Whatever suits you, as I said before.
Im obsessive compulsive when it comes to things working. When stuff doesnt work, it generally gets destroyed or thrown into my cupboard to wait for another day or another rig and/or time of desperation.

So naturally I didnt want to get another crap router like the one I was using (Australian made Netcomm - POS) and spent about $150-$200 for pretty awesome components. I know im never going to use 108mb/s on the router, but meh, the signal pretty much drowns out everyone elses router in surrounding houses :p so its alright. Security might be an issue, but I dont live around any tech heads that would even know of the existance of packet sniffers and such.
