I am outfitting a stage with a projector and I am thinking about buying a wireless video device to use with a ceiling mounted projector. My question is: there are lots of high power guitar amps and speakers around. Will these amps and speakers cause interference with the wireless video device?

The specific device I'm looking at is:
http://www.infocus.com/Accessories/Wireless/LiteShowII.aspx
which uses something similar to a 802.11 b/g to transmit the video signal. Has anyone used this device or other 802.11 b/g devices in close proximity to guitar amps?

it shouldnt cause any interfearance as long as the amps arnt putting out frequences around 2.4ghz wich would be a very high trebble range. so my thought on the matter is you should be alright

No, it was a good question. Are any of the guitars running wireless to their amps? That could be a problem if they are on the same freq.

I was just about to bring that up, Kreij. Wireless on the guitars and mics may interfere.

There are many things that can cause interfere. Cell phones for example. You want to make sure that you use a channel that is typically unused. Does the band use a wireless light board for controlling the lights? That too can cause issues.

Your question is far from silly, Az, there are many things to consider.

Everything else is wired. So I'm not anticipating any problems.

Can the lead vocalist hit 2.4 GHz?

Just kidding. You should be okay, but as always, keep an eye on things.
