For Play N' Trade
someone give me tips please??
dress nice, don't ask about pay, don't show up drunk/high, be courteous
and good luck
are you applying for a general associate position or management?
i can give you more than that but what do you need help with specifically? how to dress? the questioning part? !????
oh forgot one FIRM HANDSHAKE
while it may seem trivial, employers can take a handshake as a sign of confidence
just kinda scared on how to answer his questions.....and it feels like if I answer 1 question wrong imma screw it up I NEEED THIS JOB so BAD cant stress that enough....how should I dress khakis and a button up shirt or a collared shirt?
im guessing their dress code is your basic store themed work shirt with a tan pair of khakis?
if so then dress in a clean, nice, un-torn pair of khakis, with a plain polo or a plain lighter colored button down shirt, nothing to fancy, don't want to over do it, also tuck in your shirt for extra points (so yes a nice collard shirt)
no open toed shoes, ever
just answer the questions honestly and calmly and you will be fine, trust me for basic retail, if you show up looking nice, have a decent perception of math (basic addition and multiplication) and have decent people skills you can pretty much get he job
remember if you need to and your really sweaty before hand, stuff some paper towels in your pockets, so if you have clammy hands, and he goes to shake yours quick fix
MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS OFF when going into the interview
had to interview a guy last week, answered the phone mid interview, didn't have a chance of getting the job
also casually point out your tech experience if you already haven't done so...that type of retail store likes employees with knowledge of what they are selling
Khakis and a collared shit makes for a good casual dress that should do fine. Just relax, be yourself and you will be fine. Eye contact, firm handshake and good stance will help.
thanks thanks thanks. I hate math..... but I think ill do fine I don't think it'll be that hard.....as long as the computer adds the tax automatically for me Ill be fine, lol
most registers will take care off the hard math part, all you have to do is make change
Tax is cake too... $10.00 x .065 *.065 = 6.5%*, = 0.65 + 10.00 = $10.65
Dress around their dress code, smile, be happy, seem enthusiastic, and try not to worry or stress yourself out.
I imagine if I don't know how to do it they would teach me :| or I know an employee would help me out. the register part i mean
ya it is really easy to work any register after a week you should be good, they will help you out, because if they don't train you, you could screw up loosing them money, and it would be on them because they never trained you in the first place, but now im just kinda talking about stuff so you can ignore what you want
but tbh most jobs you just need common sense to make it through, and you would be SURPRISED how many people actually lack common sense
well thank you all for commenting and helping me out now I have a online guide of what to do, lol thanks everyone!
dont mean to single people out but thanks das müffin mann mainly
no problem man
what i look for in an employee, is
dress decently, give me there complete attention/respect, great personality, willing to work but will have fun, also, i like people who look clean when they first pick up an application, to me that says if your going to take care of your appearance everyday, and take pride in the way you look, that will transfer into your work, even if you have tat's and piercings, but if your clean about the way you dress (same with long hair on guys) you may know what im talking about, i don't care how you dress or what you put a hole through, as long as your clean
i hate it when people show up in sweats, messy hair, and a white beater (not to be sexist, but chicks do this MUCH more than guys)
basically dress nice to pick up an application, especially if you don;t know if the manager is there or not, as shitty as it is we DO judge you on your appearance
also never overdo it with axe/perfume again same guy, wreaked of axe, i just couldn't handle it
Ain't that the friggen truth of it all!!!!
Anyways, don't stress out not being able to do everything off the bat, companies have training routines for a good reason... They want to make sure you can do it all and that everyone does it all the same way... Really helps keep customer service looking good.
Thanks guys and wish me some luck on the job... I already got the call back just need the job now
I wish employers around here were more like you about the long hair on guys. That's the number one reason I don't get hired (they never tell me of course, but it's pretty damn obvious). Pisses me off cuz I put a lot of ****ing effort into my appearance for interviews and I always make eye contact, firm handshake, give full attention, confident, etc. etc.
Anyway, good luck with your interview infinity. Just listen to what everybody else has said and you should be fine.
hey guys I got a 2nd interview , same place!!!
sweet man, at this point you probably got the yob, best of luck man and hope you get it!
w00t!! congrats, hope you get the job. Then you can pay us all for our expert advice
or you could buy us a drink that would be fine to
lol i think they will call me tomorrow
they called me for the 2nd interview !!!!!!!
my bro says "yeah you basically got the job already"
Cool! I'm happy for ya man!
Have fun on the job!
