No. But now you mention it, it's a good idea for unusual designs. I might consider it for monolith in piano black

I've seen it done quite a few time! Some of them look gorgeous with a nice grain! Expecially if all the external controlls are wooden or laminated! Considering it?

Although I was think more 2001 Space Odessey, one could always start with an old piano or a grandfather clock. Nice iron framework for cooling in the piano... Nice space at the bottom of the grandfather... you could still leave it working... stealth PC.

no offence, but I dont really like the look of that :( but I do respect the time that must have taken, its a good job from the engeneering side. I'd probaby put more fans thou (unless theres some I cant see)

I wooden case with black Shiny Wood sounds amazing, make it look like a piano but smaller lol.. that'd be cool

@technicks...

1./ I think your attempt at the veneer doesnt look very good in the photos. It may be better in real life. How about a close-up shot of the polished veneer?

2./ The black iron strengthenings unfortunately make it look like a cheap trunk. IMO they were a mistake. The frame looked strong enough without them. My guess is you added them to cover over poor alignment of the veneer at the edges. I suggest you remove the ironwork and delaminate the home made veneer and try something different. (the underlying plywood frame looks 100%)

3./ What bandsaw model do I see in the background? Are you happy with it? If you were to buy again, would you get the same model or something different?

Not my cases. Just remembered i saw them once in the gallery.
Not my taste either but nicely crafted.

This one is mine but not finished. No time for it at the moment.

Very nice, although personally I'm ont into "shaker" style furniture. I also think the veneer on the front doesnt work. Should have stuck with a teak face.

It's a perfect height OFF the floow... good for airflow.

But they also missed a couple of tricks on a customer case:

1./ At the bottom of the case. The bottom should be OPEN for airflow... only a thin mesh to stop objects and fingers falling in/out.

2./ A drawer at the bottom... for holding CD's, USB cables, etc.

Wish I was in CA... I'd commission my piano black monolith from them. Looking at their site... they've got some good craftsmen there. BEAUTIFUL dovetails. They put a lot of effort into making wooden furniture the way it's meant to be made (tm)

It's not hard: Just like it's not hard to build wooden furniture...

... or it is! Depending on the quality you are wanting to achieve... it can be very hard and very time consuming.

e.g. IKEA vs. Hand Made
