Yes I particularily liked the 1500xp freebie, although I already have researched the GW Tiger so it's just going towards perks.

For a TD I always go repairs first, just a personal thing but any time saved whilst tracked is a life saver.

Driver: USUALLY, Preventative Maintenance is first. Up to you if it's that or Clutch Braking
Commander: Sixth Sense
Loader: Safe Stowage
Gunner: Designated Target
Radio Operator: Situational Awareness

Commander Sixth sense and all Camo.

But depends a lot on what TD are we talking and your playing style.
If we're talking about JT/Ferdi for example camo skill is almost useless.

My approach for TD's is something like that: I need it to be as stealth as possible, I need to know when I'm spotted, I need max. view range and I need to be precise as possible.

Object 268 line is better. Higher alpha damage is much more important.

Go for the classic one if you want to keep your sanity.

SU-152 is fine against Tier 8 with fast 122 and with derp against Tier 9/10, ISU-152 will introduce you to boomstick of doom called BL-10, Object 704 is a nice upgrade to ISU and Object 268 is the OP Tier 10 TD (my opinion of course).

The second line starts with SU-100M1 which is awful (no gun penetration, no gun damage, no gun traverse, no gun depression, no armor, no nothing) continues to SU-101 which is more than awful than M1 and then comes SU-122-54 which is triple awful and in the end you'll finish with Object 263 which is on par with Object 268.
If you manage to grind all your way to 263 and you don't lose your minds you have all my respect.

I have Object 268 in garage and for now I'm stagnating at SU-101...

I always choose repair as the first skill for all crew members, then when it's 100% complete i swap it for Brothers in Arms, then i choose repair again as the 2nd skill for all crew, when it's complete i swap it for:

for TDs
Commander -> 5th sense
Gunner -> Deadeye
Driver -> Off-Road driving (it depends on the mobility of the TD)
Radio operator -> Situational awareness
Loader -> Safe stowage

Just started WoT a few days ago, currently working up the German tree (about Tier 3-4 atm for most branches). I like the 38 NA a lot, are there other notable ones which I should try? (I prefer Sturmpanzer II over Wespe if that helps). Current goal is to get StuGIII

German line is pretty well decent and holds its own against most along most lines, what I did when I started was basically to choose a nation and follow a particular line with that nation so you would have 4 or 5 in your garage, as an example (not my preference but just for examples sake)...

TD - US
SPG - Russian
Light/medium - French
Heavy - German
Complimentry - UK

That way if you get to a point where what you have is awful, you have options available to go off in another direction so to speak.

I am working through the entire German tech tree atm, upgrades are ever so slightly cheaper. Obtained Pz IV, I dont like it at all :<

I liked the Panzer III, Hetzer, Stug III, Jagdpanther, Ferdinand, Jagdtiger, Tiger I, Tiger II, etc.

Another wise thing to do is not to discard crews, they are pretty hard to train and can improve the battle efficiency of a tank dramatically. Try to keep trained crew members, retrain them and use them in the tanks you unlock. You will get to the point were researching and buying tanks is easier then training crews.

Edit: you may be disappointing when you get the Tiger I. Few advises: It's not a brawler it's a sniper. the 88 L/71 is THE sniper gun, with it's fast rate of fire you will decimate any target in a long range fight. Never go alone (this applies to all tanks), move a lot: German tanks get tracked a bit more, it may seem a bad thing but in a close fight the enemy wasted a shoot.
