French heavy line is very good once you have grinded through the tier 7 M45 thingy, from then on you get mobility, firepower and for a frenchie, even a bit of armour!
The problem about the French Heavy is that the new American Auto-loaders are better overall.
The T57 Heavy have better armor, better aim time and even better ROF between each shot and higher DPM.
The only thing the AMX 50B have going for it is mobility, but the T57 is still fast enough to survive.

My attempts to widen my garage seems to be going rather badly. First I tried to go for the KV-1S, but got beached on the KV-1. Then I bought the SU-122-44, and don't really like that either. Now I'm trying to go up the USSR medium line, and fearing I may end up stopping already at the T-34. :S
russian medium line is fun , i was actually about to sell it when found out about camouflage rating,, tank gets better at tier7 with increased armor, tier 8 gets more camouflage - this is where it gets interesting: i would suggest getting repair + sixth sense asap, and then camouflage ,,, lets platoon a couple :0) ill drive derpy pzIV

I agree in part, however I think the 4 pot T69 for example may have a faster reload cycle in the can, the fact that it's only a 4 pot with a 25 odd second reload is a weakness, for me of the frenchies the AMX 120 is the cream of the crop but I agree regarding the 50B and T57.

Alas, I am on the EU server. :S

And the T-34 continues to be a nice tank. Took repair on my commander, smooth ride on driver, repair on my loader and situational awareness on my radio operator.

The AMX 50 120 is indeed a nice tank, but what I like about the American Auto-Loaders is that they are smaller tanks thus harder to hit.
The French just seem like big and vulnerable mediums.
Its a matter of play style really.
I prefer tanks that can unload their clip faster and thus gets moving sooner as well as being smaller and harder to hit.

T54E1 v. AMX 50 120: France wins
T69 v. AMX 50 100: draw
T57 v. AMX 50B: USA wins
I do agree with the 50 120, bigger alpha and higher penetration wins hands down.

A rare instance of an AMX 12t being one of the top tiers lol

BP is actually a pretty decent tank. Game changer if you are top tier, pretty useful if bottom tier. My only problem with it is that it could have a better pen, but that can be easily fixed with a few premium rounds.

Very bouncy armour against my 13 90, even from the back. Effectively armourleess against Tiger II though. Pretty fast too, I think it should play like a bigger IS3.

So thought I'd stick through it, and get the *5 on at least my new SU-101... But, oh dear.

6 losses in a row. *sigh*. 5 of them was clearly predicted by XVM.

Would still say I like the SU-101, but It doesn't work very well alone. So it's just begging to everything, that my team mates have half a brain to do something useful. :S

The stock grind on the SU-101 is far better than I thought it would be.

And had this pretty decent game in it. :D (Hate that TD's have to do so much to get XP. :S)

Now I can introduce you the ultimate trolling machine:

shot_005.jpg

I can call it my new mobile arty. :D
In fact is an Object 261 with turret. Aprox. same damage and reload but better aim time/accuracy lol.

Joke aside a brief summary after 9 battles:

Pro's.
- troll gun. Using only HESH because if you want to use AP pick any other T10 TD.

Con's.
- everything else. No gun depression, no gun elevation, big as a barn (pretty mobile tough), turret turns only 90 degrees and it'a made from paper (I saw 2 holes in gun mantlet in a T10 battle), it doesn't bounce almost anything, arty loves it and the icing on the cake is the gun. Yes when it penetrates it almost one-shot everything but it has a long aiming time, a very bad accuracy and 24.xx sec reload with vents/BiA/rammer. Forget about sniping at weakspots at medium/long distances, just put your crosshair on target and pray.

Best penetrating shots until now were one-shot one E-75 (above screenshot), one E-50, ~1700 HP in an IS-7 and 1600 HP on E-100.
If it doesn't penetrate damage is in 500-700 HP range (until now).
But I have a lot of misses too. :(

And in the end playing with HESH is a quick way to loose all your credits. You can have the battle of your life in it but you still loose credits.

Bottom line is a special TD with turret mounted on rear. I'll keep it for a while just for teh lulz.

Caved in and spent 13700 free xp on the top gun for the SU-101. I think I like it. Except I'm going to be the biggest miser with shooting now. :S

Yes, I'm still a noob... but I discovered I'm better in fast tanks... maintaining 60% hit/miss ratio, and going for 70 in my cromwell....

And now! Death to the worst pile of CRAP I've ever had the misfortune of using! The SU-101!

Far worse than the 100M1 in all regards. An armor increase that feels imaginary. An gun that can't pen, can't hit and deal no damage. All the while leaching your bank account. And somebody seems to have mounted the engine on the outside of the tank.

I hate it like I haven't hated any other tank I've tried so far.

Wiki makes it sound like "if you are a pro you can make it work". Clearly a challenging vehicle from that point of view, and I am thankful that the Germans tank I push drive have a good gun to compensate for all their failings.

Thinking of selling my Ferdi to raise money for one of the German mediums. In games with a sensible team, I can use the Ferdi to bring victory (no one in their right mind will want that 12.8cm pointing at them, those who do will not live to tell the tale). However more often than not I am left to fend for myself and pray that one of the gokarts don't get me. I suspect JT will be of the same sort, making it quite suffering to play alone. The question is, which medium? The glorious Leopard 1, or the heavy pretending to be medium 50M?

I started with it, with the clear belief that it would be kind of like the 100M1. It just doesn't like it. Might even buy it back and try it again. But for now, it's betrayed my belief in it being a fun tank too much for that.

The gun is much worse than I thought it would be. The penetration simply isn't high enough to make it work. And it even lost the edge of the nice accuracy and aim time that the 100M1 had. (I probably played it wrong here, but it's harder to play as the 100M1 due to enemy upgrades from t7 -> t8)

The armour feels NO better than the one 100M1, which is bad, since it's a tier higher. And the engine is SO weak I couldn't believe it. Until then, fires had been an occasional ding of bad luck. This feels like the worst of the German rumours. I think I had 10 or so fires in 36 games, and at least as many damages engines.

Edit: Do make the note that I have no problem with it's gun depression. Sure it was bad, but the 100M1 wasn't great either.

The question is, which medium? The glorious Leopard 1, or the heavy pretending to be medium 50M?
My platoon mate is in love with his 50M.
I'm not a medium player but I don't like Leo. Too thin armor for my taste.

agent00skid I told you. :D
And the worst part is that next TD SU-122-54 is the same horror. :banghead:

I was raging. :p I'm not good with raging. :p

I'm going to make that thing work at some point. For now I'll relax with the 100M1. :D

Also, I find it weird that nobody mentions the extremely vulnerable engine on it. That was the the biggest surprise I found when using it.

When I finally got the top gun on it, I weren't being aggressive enough in it.
