first impressions of 8.8?
german line got nerfed and some russians got nerfed. i had the VK 30.01 H which was a tier 6 and is now tier 5 and lost it's 132 pen / 230 dmg gun as well as a major speed bump. i really liked this tank but i think i am going to sell it now. as a compromise i received a VK 30.02 M which is more like the panther and tier 6 but still no 132 / 230 gun. :banghead:

some old updated maps have been revived which i appreciate. the more variety the better. :toast:

visuals are a bit different too now .. at least appears to me that way. seems like they are getting ready for xbox integration.

Some of the german's got a buff as well, seems to me in some cases that the gap between tier 7 and tier 8 is starting to get somewhat clouded, look at the Tiger now, fully loaded it's only got 100HP less than than the Tiger II, is quicker and more manouverable. yes I see what appears to be some graphical improvements as well but overall for the tanks I have I have seen very little change in 8.8 as far as gameplay is concerned. Maybe now they will start thinking about improvements to the US heavy line, the T32 needs to het the M103's middle gun for example, it's only competative now because of it's armour.

weird patch......some reason i got 25k xp and 64k credits as well as most of my german tanks were de-equipped and re-equipped with stock modules which i sold and made about 500k.

on top of that im probably gonna sell the superp for 7200g so far the patch is looking up

really like the missions tab so a person can keep track of them as well as the statistics

questions. haven't played it yet.....is the mm any better or is one still subjected to 15-4 steamroll matches in the pubbies. every since like 1-2 patches ago my win rate has dropped 1% due to the bullshit matchmaking. 51.xx to 50.xx. makes me annoyed bc before the tier x arty/server split patch imo matchmaking was at it's best in a long time.

also i really love the on-track events now......i have gotten like 3 tierx's now that i had researched but never bought bc of it.

my advice for all of you with a t-54 is grind, grind grind to unlock that new tier x medium......i have a sneaking suspicion that eventually it will be at the end of what appears to be a god-awful medium tank line.

You get the 25k free XP because you researched the engine that was removed from the E-50/E-75.

You get the credits because you bought it too.

That will always happen every so often. Very regularly when I am driving my BatChat I will meet another one or two BatChats in my team (or T62A/Leopard/T57 Heavy), we will just wolfpack storm a flank. If the flank is lightly defended, we will be threatening their cap within 4 minutes, and the game is effectively over, with the formality of destroying every single red tank in the field. Its not the problem with the matchmaking, its the problem with the maps. Responding to fast and heavily armed tanks is not easy if you want to keep a coherent defensive line.

One of my best games yesterday was in South Coast, with me in a Leo PT A. During the opening minutes we managed to clear out the 3 heavies and 2 mediums protecting the east flank with a combination of a few meds, artillery and Foch 155 (what a monster tank if you ask me), by 11th minute we were taking positions behind the enemy lines, effectively sandwiching the 9 remaining tanks between their base and ours. Game ended 15-1. The spread is decent, but you wouldn't expect a complete steamroll of that scale.

Another example is me in a JT, along with 2 other Tier 9 TDs in Arctic Region. First volley cleared off T30, second knocked out their E75 in the "heavy valley". In a match with only 3 Tier 9s coupled a combination of Tier 8 and 7s, losing their two tier 9s under 2 minutes made the game completely unplayable.

got the T44 today .. yay .. finally!
of course it's stock but that didn't keep me from feeling invisible for the first 5-10 matches :p
after a few hail mary's and kamikazee moves i realized that i am not invisible :p
i am feeling much more comfortable in it then the T43. i have the IS-3 around the corner, about 8k away.
any words of wisdom?

IS3 is a good tank, but a competent Tiger II commander will eat you alive.

so you mean i have little to worry about? there are much fewer competent players then there are Tiger II's.
j/k
i am about 40k away from the "Kitten II" which will be my next goal.

i am also eyeballing to two US medium lines with ending with the T57 Heavy and the M48 Patton. would you recommend one over the other or whats your opinion on that

T57 Heavy. Are you in a CW-active clan? The M48 Patton have limited uses so far...

My current tanks:
IS-7, T110E4, FV4202, E-75, T26E4 Super Pershing, KV-1S, Churchill I, SU-122A, Matilda IV, Churchill III, T14, T-25, FCM36 PaK40, LTP, T18, SU-18, T1E6, T1 Cunningham

nah, not yet. made my own clan for now. i am working my way to to those two but i am still a good shot away from it. i focused on the german line first and am now at tier 7, close to 8. i focus now on the russian line. just broke tier 8 with the T44 and now work on the IS 3. then i will bring the US tanks up

2 competent commanders pitched against each other.... the IS3 one will win in 60% of the battles, had both tanks for nearly 2 years, loved both but the IS3 is the best IMO. problem with IS3 is that you end up with the IS8 at tier 9, I sold mine after a month and went back to my M103, just didnt like it's paper armour.

@ bot tru it isn't very often you see someone in a KT that knows what they are doing with it. Imo an is3 would beat it unless there was a skilled kt and an unskilled is3.

@ tatty those were kinda my thoughts......back when i did my kt i always ended up in tierx matches which made the grind especially painful but the better someone gets at the KT the better they will be in the e75 and that tank is no joke. one of my favorite grinds of all time was the e75.

im not sure how it is now but last I recall the e75 was the most formidable tier ix HT

Hmm, that seems to be different from my experience, I never had any problem fighting IS3 at any range. Of course, Tiger II leads to E-75, whereas IS3 leads to IS8, so IS3 is probably more of a keeper.

I agree with route to tier 9 totally, but you only need to look at the stats, of course stats don't take into account user skills but is currently only the real benchmark to go by, last time I checked, which I admit was a while ago the IS3 was well in front, no doubt in the match up the KT has some really good attributes over the IS3 but in key area's the IS3 comes out in a majority, and to be honest, I cannot remember the last time my BL9 did not pen a KT anywhere, I cannot say the same in reverse, certainly not front on...... but again, we all play differently and different styles suit different tanks, I know that for example, i do not like the E75 although last time I checked it along with the M103 were pretty much top of the T9 tree, I think now though the ST1 may have crept in there somewhere too.

One of the great things about the introduction of T10 TD's is that you no longer get Maus and E100's strutting their stuff through the battlefield without a care in the world and many have now ditched them because they can't get away with that kamikaze style anymore.

Funny you say that, I have been seeing a lot more Maus and E100 action since 8.8. More Maus than E100, but still more of them. A lot more games has the matchup of mediums vs TDs, where each team will be packed with tanks like T62A, T57 Heavy (ok, a heavy, but still pretty fast and has autoloader). Fill the rest up with JPE100, Foch 155 and Objects you get a game where scouts die within the first 2 minutes and then its campfest. I wish Arty is back, at least it encourages people to be dynamic.

Again, i agree, sadly all the arty haters pressurised until the changes were made, only to find now, if they were to be totally honest that the battlefield (game) has lost some of the fun it had beforehand.

I had both the IS-3 and the Tiger II. I performed roughly the same in either tank i.e. sub-par.

I find Tiger II performs pretty decent against higher tiers, but among my tier 8's I prefer I-Pz.

Still gotta love the Type 59 though, add some gold ammo to it once in a while and it rapes most.

Got me 250,000 credits last night for a mission completion, can now afford to ditch me ISU152 and move onto the Object, might finally get a TD with some armour! The ISU is aweful, excellent gun but anything above 75mm seems to pen even the front.
