Doesn't surprise me they are getting a lot better

they just need to be more persistent with bios updates and listen to feedback from guys like us.

their x58s are great but need a few bios tweaks.

im sure these new products are improved a good bit

ECS P45 Black is a very good board itself. Been about a year and a half pushing a Q9650 @ 4.2ghz, no problems what so ever.

They jsut need a bit mroe advanced bios, and given thier very affordable nature, ECS has a good chance at becoming a major part of the overclocking scene.

They need bioses, reps on boards helping guys configure thier machines, and good support, and those should be easy things to do.

It features more internal SATA headers and some pretty slick features like an overclocking knob that is on the corner of the PCB that can be turned to any one of nine positions for easy overclocking.
ECS P67H2-A Intel P67 Motherboard

The overclocking dial is numbered zero to nine and we were told that each position represents an overclock of 5%. This means that by just turning this knob it will overclock your processor by up to 45%!
 Overclocking using a knob on the motherboard with 9 positions?

Sounds nice...

No they're beautiful lol :)

Let's hope it's not just 'eye-candy functionality' and that quality materials were used. It'd be a pity if such boards result to be unreliable. :ohwell:

There is DFI and there is the opposite ECS and FOXCONN. Cool color scheme and 100 power phases are not enough. I would like to see what reviews have to say when they are out.

Did u miss the memo? Dfi is done. No more from them.

Ecs has been pretty good lately.

I'd be glad to review any ecs product if someone was kind enough to lay it in my hands as I'm sure it would score just as well as most other products on the market today.

ECS is the best if it comes to warranty..
5 years.
no other manufacturer can come close to that.

but their value motherboards are quite bad..
idk on the black series.

Last ECS I owned was from my Pentium !!!, in 2000. Heck, it wasn't a great mobo, but was able to work for 8 years (ofc, the rest also stood up for the job, except the RAM that failed a lot). Performance wise, it did what it was supposed to, as far as quality is concerned, it was decent but the BIOS, drivers and features made it outdated in 2 years...that was really a bad thing.
Good to know they're turning a page in their book!:)
I liked the knob idea! It's like the G25 steering wheel, every time i switched from manual to semi it was like i was doing the laundry. The one on the mobo resembles my trusty BoomBox's volume/mixer/balance/tone knobs!

I'll wait for the reviews to make decisions.

I guess that makes us two!
I'm also running an ASRock, and I'm very pleased with it. I can trow "anything"* at it and it still takes it and run! :rockout:
Of course the modded BIOS also helps a lot! :D

*Well, not anything of course. It has to be restrained to the features, but still can take a variety of stuff it isn't on it's compatibility list.

i had one of those with my E7200ES chip it clocked pretty good couldn't push teh FSB like my asus did but for half the price it was a beast.

currently i have a dead 890GX from them :/ BIOS updating needs some improvement i haven't lost a mobo to BIOS updates since like 2002?
