I'm looking for a dead ipod mini for a little bit of solid state conversion action.....:D
Mostly, I'd like to find one with either a hard drive problem, battery problem, or a combination of these two problems. No cracked screens, broken click wheels, etc etc. Also, I'd prefer a 2nd gen ipod mini as opposed to a first gen, but either should be OK. Capacity also doesn't matter (i'm gonna rip out the microdrive anyways..)

Problem is, i really don't have all that much money to spend on this project, so make offers, but I most likely won't be able to afford much at all (if anything).

Thanks for looking!

p.s. other ipods should work fine too.

How about an ipod U2 with a dead battery? Just get some of the CD repair thingy and clean the scateches with it.

shame on you thread jacker.

and who, mind you, wouldn't want an ipod video? i mean, they're relatively new, and someone wouldn't just shell out $300 for something they don't want.....

(btw mods, i do know him, thats why i'm being a bit mean to him. hehe)

it's not more that they don't want it, more like i think this would be more useful to someone who's mp3 player is in pieces, catch my drift?

a few reasons
1) i need a new mp3 player
2) i have little money
3) dead ipods are easy to come by
4) flash memory is easy to come by
5) combine the two together, and you have a very decent flash-based mp3 player for cheap!

and thats pretty much why. thx for the bump!
