[WTB] Parts to build my parents a new(er) PC!!

Ok, I'm looking to my friends at TPU to help me out. I'm building a new PC for my wifes parents, but I'm running short on funds to finish the project. I need a REALLY good deal on some USED items. I have the case, MB, DVD drive, case fans etc. I need the following:

1)775 CPU. I'd prefer a Pentium D, Celeron D, or C2D 4300.
2) Quality PSU w/pci-e connector (prefer dual rails)
3) 1 GB of DDR800 or 667
4) 80 GB SATA HD
5) lower end PCI-E VC

i have a 470watt pc p&c power supply for sale. has 1 pcie connector. $70 shipped as long as your in the us. its only about 2-3 months old. i bought a 750watt and dont need the 470 anymore.

Would you buy a AM2 Single core setup. I have few things that I am willing to sell. Its pretty new (10 days old). I messed up another machine and am tight on funds. So if you need it I can give you the specs. Its not a sempy machine. Unless you are a Intel fan boy.

It's got to be Intel. It's going into a DFI p35 Infinity board.

For me, yes. But it's for my in-laws, who only use the PC for the basics. So, although I'd love to put a C2D in their system, they would do fine with a highly clocked single core.

OK. This is what I have. They are remainders of my own previous builds:

DFI p35 Infinity MB
Antec p180 case (w 3 case fans)

What I need:

CPU
SATA HD
PCI-E VC (lower end)
1 GB RAM
DVD-RW drive
PSU (400-500w)

I have less than $200 to put into it, and that's really stretching it. I think with some really good deals from you guys, I can get it done. :toast:

I got it. Still I would beat ur $200 budget if you go with what I sell

AM2 setup

ECS mobo 6100SM + A64 3500 = $75
Don't have a SATA at the moment. But will give you a 80G IDE for $20
Corsair ValueSelect 1GB single stick = $30
Sony/NEC IDE 18X DVDRW drive (OEM) = $20
500W PSU = $25
EVGA 7200GS PCIE 256MB card = $30

Thats $200 + shipping.

And you can sell the DFI and make money.

Except the DFI is quite a bit more future proof, if they wanted to upgrade the cpu later. Oh, and I hate ECS boards. I've used them for budget builds for clients, nothing but problems...thanks anyways.

I can do you a barely used Hitachi 80GB SATA2 and Sapphire X1650XT and that PSU I have for sale but I think they'd be getting out of your price range...

well i found if you bought everything new except the hdd and cpu it comes to $180 - $190 so your not far off

I might take you up on the HD, if the price is right...but that VC and PSU would not only be out of range, it would be a waste in the in-laws system!!

It's a p180b. It's in good condition, other than breaking the end of one of the fan mounts.

I'm using it for their system. I quit using it, because I don't like the setup. Feels too cramped, and I don't like the PSU on the bottom..
