i doubt ill get much response to this but never know unless i post it,
im wanting to try and get a better cpu for my system, an athlon 3200,
wondering if anyones interested in a swap for my current cpu and some cash,
this one is a thoroughbrd-b core, iv ran it at 2310-2365 stable, oc'd of course, but can run at 2200 at 1.675v (200x11)
im gonna be truthful about it, its marked as a sempron 2800, bit it was rebranded somehow,
originally its a geode, maybe the nx1750, im not sure, but what iv read on these chips they can run at quite low power at lower clock speeds, maybe good for a quiet media pc, i dont have lower voltage options in bios to test,

The extra cache is not going to make any difference may be 5% max. You are running past 3200 speeds. Save that money and move into A64. If you have good RAM which is dual channel compatible, may be it is time to get a S939 so you can use ur RAM and other stuff.

i thought i was only hitting around 3000 speeds, lol, im getting some better ram soon(not costing much, swapping an old pc for it) an just thought the 3200 bartons would be a bit faster than the current one, think this one is just as good as the 3200 chips? just wanna get the most out this system for now till i go for a whole new one.

3200 runs at 2200 mhz (200*11). Yours is running at 3400 speeds if it existed. If you want to try, go with a mobile processor. Your mobo will take it. Then you can push it. With mobiles u can change the multiplier downwards. They run cooler. I had the same mobo with a Athlon XP mobile 2400 (default clock at 1.8ghz) clocked to 2.4 ghz at 1.65V. The mobo crapped out and I replaced it with an ASUS. Asus runs lot better and cooler.

Most Nforce2 mobos can do upto 220 FSB. Keep this in mind. Ram should run 1:1 on Athlon XP platforms.

But investing in a XP processor will not do justice. Before u spend a whole lot on an entirely new setup, just pull out that thing and buy

Get the combo with the 4000 processor. This processor will eat ur CPU and all all its cousins in one bite. Or even better go to dual core. One thing is u have to invest in a PCI-E GPU if you don't like the built-in one.

i cant seem to go lower than 11x with mine, anything lower goes to 8x and below, maybe a bridge mod would work for that,
not planning to get a new system for a while yet, audio on this is good, jus wish it was the mcp-t version, once penryns and phenoms are out other stuff is bound to get cheaper,

was able to pick it up from the shop, i couldnt find that many 939 mb's n cpu, but this'll do for now, sold my second pc to pay for it, so gonna keep the old mobo n cpu for now,

Good Move. Hopefully that mobo overclocks a bit more. Its a via chipset. So don't expect too high. But MSI's are good and stable mobo. I have the Nvidia version of that from MSI and I love it.

I think I have a AXP 2000+ sitting around somewhere. Never OCd so no idea what it can do. If your insistent on sticking with Socket A, you should try and grab a DFI Infinity nF2 mobo

Check to see what speed your PCI bus is running. If the AGP/PCI bus is not locked all your data will be corrupted. Try Clockgen to verify.

2880 on stock voltage so far, its a great improvement playin cnc3,
i gotta get new ram as these unmatched sticks only running single channel,
not sure what im doing with the old mobo yet, may have plans for it as i sold my other celeron pc,

you should be able to force dual channel ive done that with unmatched sticks on my dads setup worked when i did it with 2X512 unmatched and later with 2x1024 after he upgraded

how ya do that? iv tried with systool but nothing happened,
only main dif i see with the ram is one is 2 ranks - 4 banks other 1 rank - 4 banks, according to everest,

should be in the bios look around i did it on a i865 mobo could be you can only do it with certain chipsets not sure :/

I don't think you can force the memory to work in dual channel. The bios decides. Only on Nforce2 it doesn't care. Even if you have a 512 and 256 on different channels it will work on dual channel. Newer mobo chips doesn't (Atleast what I learned). But if there is a way then it is good to know.

still no luck with the dual channel, but got the evo33 mounted an temps are looking good, was maybe hitting 40'c at most,

this was at 2938 @ 1.45v
iv also been offered the price of that x2 for my 4000, so could be a cheap upgrade. . .
