WWE 2k16 and 2k17 Slow motion issue!

Hi! I have both WWE 2k16 and 2k17 on my laptop and when I play for example 2k16 - it runs perfect all the time, even with 6 wrestlers in a match, but when I play a ladder match - it runs perfect UNTIL I start grabbing the briefcase, then the fps drastically go down and almost in slow motion and does not go away until I reset the game. I doubt its my laptop's fault because the game runs perfect until I grab the briefcase. And WWE 2K17 has a similar problem - all runs perfect until I play a Royal Rumble match. In the first like 10 mins of play its fine, but then everytime I try and eliminate someone - the game goes into slow mo, but then stops after a few seconds/about a minute. But it gradually gets worse and by the time I get to like entry number 15-20 max - the slow motion does not go away even after I finish/quit the match and I have to restart the game.
My laptop is ASUS A556U, has Nvidia 940mx GPU with 2GB DDR3 vram, processor is i3 7100U, I have windows 10 Home and 8GB RAM. I know the laptop is not great by any means, but it plays 2k16 flawlessly on high and 2k17 at about 50ish fps on medium-high at 720p. Anyone know what the issue might be here?

940mx is a rather weak GPU. Some games instead of dropping frames when there is a fps drop they simply slow down the action , so that's what is probably happening.

That might be true, but it does not make sense in this case in my opinion. I can stay on the ladder and its smooth and fast. But the moment I reach for the briefcase or title - it goes into slow motion and stays that way. There is no reason for fps drop here.

2k17 uses more advanced instructions sets and is most likely hitting your cpu harder causing slowdown.

Yeah, this is true. The game does run slower than 2k16, like when I have 6 wrestlers in a match it goes to 40ish fps, which I dont have a problem with, its still playable/enjoyable for me. But the Royal Rumble just gradually goes into slow motion. In WWE 2k18 the same happens, but only after awhile and only when a new wrestler is coming into the match. Luckily it goes away quickly and I can finish the match. So I dont know, but be the number of wrestlers coming into the game (eliminated or not) causing this?

Perhaps try running windows in game mode and close off everything running before you play.

How do I run windows in game mode? And one more thing I just noticed - I am playing WWE 2k16 right now and even when it goes into slow motion in the ladder match - it uses only 800ish mb of my video ram, not the full 2gb.
