Pcpartpicker claims I need 4 pins for additional power. That my psu doesn’t have. How much truth is to this? Complete newby to pc building. Thanks in advance!

My X470 Gaming Pro has an extra 8-pin EPS socket on it (probably meant for extra power when doing insane LN2 overclocking or whatever). It works perfectly fine without the second one plugged in. I'd assume the Gaming Plus is the same in that regard.

Is your PSU FSP Aurum CM 650M? It's quite old. Usually it's recommended to at the least update your power supply when upgrading/building new PC.

these day, even with standard motherboard, they provide x2 4pin cpu slot, also many bronze 80+ psu alr having x4 cpu pin & x2 6+2 pcie pin atleash
anyway theres no need worry abt lack of power cable, i used old motherboard+ cheap psu(only have x1 6pin) but still can power up x2 6pin gpu needed, aslong as our psu can supply decent power, we can go with random molex nor splitter cable, am not expert anyway, so feel free to try it and dont blame me on any damaged cause
