Why are you worried about downgrading the UEFI?
3.30 seems to be the latest one and it has AGESA 1.0.0.3 something, which is what you'd want for Ryzen 3000.
Ideally, at least for now, 1.0.0.3ABB, but it seems it's not available for that board, yet.

because im paranoid? i cant think of any other reason then issues arising from a new bios and getting stuck. I noticed some people have a beta bios 4.30jz or something for the board and was looking for insight if needed or what most people are doing. I guess just go for it update to 3.30 (strange that 3.40 was removed tho)

But as a minimum, you want AGESA 1.0.0.3, so with a Ryzen 3000, rolling back wouldn't be any benefit.

sure but what if i downgraded chips after giving the board away. (my brain thinks to much i guess)
Shouldn't be an issue, unless they specifically say something isn't supported. But this is a silly reason imho.

Pay attention to these 2 images and my instructions

Before flashing any bios you must download and install this driver unless if when you try to install it that the installer states you already have the latest version. Do note it is in a .zip container file

If you do not have bios 2.00 (P2.00)
Get it before updating to any bios version that supersedes it.

Any bios that is afer 2.00 you must have 2.00 installed before upgrading to any bios of 3.**. Taichi Ultimate has the larger bios chip unlike the cheap brand MSI.

Once you have bios 2.00 installed get bios 3.30 and call it a day

Stop Over Thinking and just follow the directions above or take it to a friend or a repair shop that can read and understand what is being written here.

really was asking people that own the board, im sorry if my asking offended you somehow, the regular tachi http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X470 Taichi/index.asp#BIOS 1.0.0.3abb vs ultimate which has 1.0.0.3
it doesnt really matter to me as its already been flashed Friday, but you can post giant photos if that makes you feel like you are helping.
So why did you waste our time to begin with then???

And by the way I've got 21 years of experience doing this. So it doesn't matter if I own the board or not if you read on those images it tells you what to do.

And by the way board manufacturers will pull bios updates if they feel that they are too buggy and will cause the end user to suffer for it so they spare people pain and torment

I am again sorry you feel offended that i wanted a opinion from someone who might use the same board, i wasnt aware that you felt obligated to post giant photos and replies.. (if such waste of time why post about waste of time!)
and by the way ive been using computers since i was 2, 36 years ago! wooohooooo (still have a few commodore 64's with external modems etc etc ) i remember typing out the whole games code, wow so fun.

so if you know so much why come here then and make a pointless thread and state you already updated, when you could of gone into a hex editor and made the non extreme bios compatible with your board by taking 2 files and making 1?

Next time refer to asrock forums for questions like this, im sure they have plenty of subject matter experts there.

I read his post #8 as trying to help with some info, as far as post #13 goes, he was not commanding you to do anything, everyone here needs to lighten up a little, take a tolerance pill and move forward in a constructive manner otherwise I will be forced to shut up shop...… thank you.

FYI, ASRock is based in Taiwan, NOT China, but I guess you knew that, right?

Just as a heads up, 3.40 BIOS is out, with latest AGESA.

Just installed yesterday on my x470 ultimate, and 3700x. All settings default for now, but seems to run stable.

It's not nonsense when you realised that Taiwan is a free and mostly democratic place that you're comparing to a dictatorship, but ok...
It also has something to do with where ASRock's support forum is located, as in Taiwan, not China.
