X800 fuses data for unlocking

I've bought the Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 5 Rev.2.. think this will work a long time =)

but i'm still looking for a better bios.. when i scan for artifacts the test freezes my computer after 5 mins or so.. but no artifacts were found. After this I used ATI-tool to slow down ram and gpu frequenzy. So i'm still looking for the perfect bios.

If anyone has "THE" bios for the gto² plz post it .

the x850xt non vivo bios should be 1000% compataple with that card if you are having probs its likely that it's overheating or it needs to be returned for rma

First the fan was always at 52%, no matter if the card was in idle or in high ratio. So I forced the fan by using ATI-tool (a very smart tool.. was till this moment nvidia user ) to run always 100%. This night i will try to run the artifact test under xt circumstances. Now I have my card at standard gto²settings, aside from the 16pp. First I will try to run a test under settings in the mid of standard and the x850xt settings. Then I will raise the settings step by step.

plz explain "rma" to me.. normally i'm no overclocking fan (i'm really a newbie in this profession..) but this card was introduced as a "hot tip". I'm not satisfied with my old 6600gt. So i chose this card, and try now to find a way to get in the mid between maximum performance and a stable long time life of the card.

rma is where you call up sapphire and ask them for a replacement

you ship it to them and they ship you a new one

tell them it randomly crashes on you but other than that it's best to sound like a noob while talking to them

naaa, on this setting now the card works without crashes. Only when I have the card @xt850xt or xt pe settings it freezes my system (nothing works, reset is the only solution). Atm i have the card on standard settings as suggested for the gto² (only the 16 pixelpiplines are unlocked). Now I can run the artifact test for hours. Only @high settings it causes crashes. Don't think a new card will react otherwise

maybe your case is so hot the poor card cant disipate enought heat, other thing could be that.. you overclocked your cpu and it affected your pci express slot?

I don't think the temperature is the prob. Only when i do the artifact test, the system freezes after ~5min (only @x850xt frequenzies, @std settings it works for hours)

Edit: my cpu has under maximum usage ~38°C, system temperature is about 37°C. Video Card in idle: 34°C --> maximum: ~50°C

Are you sure, that you installed the heatsink properly? Look wether the memories sit on the cooler. Did you use thermal paste?

According to that, yours should be unlockable. What flash utility are you using and what commands are you using for the flash?

For the utility, you should be using the modified flashrom or use atiflash 3.xx with its -newbios option.

they sold me the card already modded, and WITH GARANTEE as long I dont overdo the overclocking

maybe the vid card lockd the irq or has much higher priority and thus the soundcard b*tches for not being hable to access the resources? happened with a lot of Creative Audigy 2 cards

I can overclock my sapphire gto fireblade (R480, 1.6ns samsung) to 615/609 (stabel), reaching 6177 points in 3dmark05 with a venice 3000+ (not overclocked)

To put it simply, the Radeon X800 RX is a Radeon X800GT, simply using a different name as decided by Club 3D. The clock speeds and architecture are the same as that seen in our recent Powercolor Radeon X800GT review, featuring as it does six vertex shaders and eight pixel pipelines clocked at 475MHz core and 490MHz DDR RAM (980MHZ effective). It does appear (from the part description on Club 3D's web site) that the Radeon X800RX uses only R480 cores, compared to Radeon X800GT parts which can be made up of either R423, R430 or R480 cores.

you can just change to a diferent PCI port, wich has a diferent signal or interrupt than the PCI EXPRESS or AGP used for the vid card.
